No. It’s an electrolyte issue in the main so if you’re eating well it may be avoided. Often it’s a sodium thing & I note you’re eating olives & haloumi which are good & salty.

I know equal is not a choice for keto but could 1 small pack effect me going into ketosis?
I also had a ideal lean protien shake…whch is pretty much straight protien and .5 gran of sugar

No. Not everyone gets it. I didn’t, but my husband got it horribly and we ate exactly the same things. Be happy if you aren’t getting it, it can be very unpleasant.

You should know though that many, many people don’t get into ketosis at 50 g of carbs. Loads of people on this forum stick to 20 net grams and many even lower because they will not be in ketosis otherwise. If you are older, very overweight, or have been overweight for long you may be very insulin insensitive in which case you might need to bring your carbs way down.

Some people do OK with sweeteners & others not so much so you’ll have to figure out what works for you. As @Ilana_Rose said, 50 grams of carbs might be too high right off the bat but might be OK once you’ve been at it for a good while. It will vary from person to person but about 20 grams max is the best place to start.

I’m not big on protein shakes - I prefer to get it from whole foods - but there are others on the forum who use them & hopefully one of them will spot your post.

I’ve been on Atkins several times–once for almost a year, other times for shorter periods. Now I’ve been on keto for 6 months. I’ve never experienced keto flu or any of the problems that are sometimes mentioned.

Electrolytes are supposed to be a factor, but I eat very little salt (I try to eat more, but I just don’t like it) and have only started taking potassium recently.

(You've tried everything else; why not try bacon?) #10

No keto “flu”? Then you’re doing fine. It’s not a requirement, and you don’t ever have to experience the keto “flu.” It’s a symptom of low sodium. Keep your salt intake up, and you’re fine.

No I didn’t get much of a keto flu.

I get a bit dizzy if i don’t have enough water /salt.
