On the horizon there appears to be a shortage of olive oil looming, which will result in shortages and thus inflated prices.

I use extra virgin olive oil for many things including low temp frying and dressings, and also light olive oil (a blend of refined olive oil and virgin olive oils) for frying at higher temperatures.

I’ve ordred up 5 litres of Mild light olive oil for frying, 1.5 litres of Greek organic extra virgin olive oil, 1 litre of organic extra virgin coconut oil and 2 x 285g jars of grass fed beef dripping to top up my existing stocks. Although I think I may have acted too late to avoid some inflationary costs…but are the costs to escalate further? In which case I’d order even more.

Has anyone noticed the prices of these products creeping up yet?

Well, that sucks. But I suppose in the grand scheme of things it’s the last thing we should really be worried about.

I do love my extra virgin olive oil though : (

Bought some the other day and didn’t notice a price hike, but then I don’t really pay close attention to such things because I’m absolutely terrible with money

Yeah, everything going up!

I heat my home and water with kerosene heating oil…it has increased by 25% in the last 3 weeks alone after many previous price hikes.
It’s now £945 for 900 litres, or £1.05 a litre.
Last February it was £0.63 a litre.
September 2021 it was £0.48 a litre.
March 2021 it was £0.38 a litre.

So it’s increased in price by 294.74 % since March 2021.

Lovely times we are living in. Somebody is cashing in somewhere…

Yeah… not looking forward to October when they ramp up the energy prices here. Hoping for a mild winter to save on the gas CH, but there’s very little I can do about needing to run kit for work all day. It’s gonna blow.
