Do herbal teas invoke the digestion system?

(Bansaw) #1

I’m trying to eat a big meal at 5:30pm and let my body take a rest from food until 7pm the following day.

If I have a herbal tea, would that re-invoke my digestion system and spoil my goal?

I was thinking of something like Bengal Spice for example.

(Bacon by any other name would taste just as great.) #2

That’s a very good question, and I don’t know the answer. They say that even thinking about food causes an insulin response, so it is entirely possible that drinking herbal tea would, as well. I haven’t been worrying about drinking herbal tea in the evening, but it would be nice to know what the data actually say.

Eating your last meal at 5.30 is such a good goal. I have been trying to shift my evening meal earlier and my success is patchy. I was thinking that a dedicated tea ceremony later could become a good habit to remind my body that this is the last thing you’ll get; prepare to sleep!
Might be possible to change it to hot water in the future if that serves me better
