Epidemiological data warning applies

Well, at the end of the article it stated that the finding warranted further study. I think that’s a good sign that instead of giving a definitive: this must mean diet soda is good for the colon, it said they should look deeper.

I also liked that the article mentioned that the health risks of diet sodas has never really been proven. That was something mentioned in “The Case Against Sugar.” The sugar lobby was powerful in supporting research against artificial sweeteners.

Just curious. Who paid for the study?

Still reading, but here’s one report direct from Yale it seems:

According to the PLOS link included above, it was funded by various cancer research grants.

Thanks. Various companies sometimes grant money for research, just wondering.

Yeah, not gonna lie, was kind of expecting to see “Funded by Coca Cola” in there somewhere lol

Thanks for sharing this article. It certainly goes against the common theme that artificial sweeteners are ‘bad’ for health. I would think if anything, the diet soda (pop) would be replacing sugar that otherwise would have been consumed and I think we all know that sugar is a fave of cancer.
