Did Dunkin replace their coffee flavorings with sugary stuff?

Got an iced decaf today with 1/2 a hazelnut flavor shot. I’ve done this many times with no BG consequences. Today it tasted sweet. I asked them, and they said there was no sugar. About 30 minutes later my BG spiked 50 points! Anyone else notice this?

You don’t really believe them?

“No sugar” may be an honest answer. But if it tastes sweet, there are sugar substitutes and many can produce the same effect as sugar.

You can ask to see the ingredients list.

If there is sugar in the flavor shots, or any kind of sweetener, they probably don’t know about it, and when asked are going to think you mean “did I put a scoop of table sugar in it” rather than “is it in the flavor shot”.

It is possible they gave you a flavor “swirl” rather than a flavor “shot”, the former does have sugar in it.

Update: Found their “allergen ingredient guide” and while they seem to have every variety and combination, hazelnut shot isn’t in here at all, only hazelnut swirl (which has sugar, as mentioned before, but also listed). Not sure if this is complete though as the ONLY shot is espresso shot.
