Dessert for Australia day

(Shona) #1

I have been given the task of taking dessert to a bbq on australia day. I am yet to find a sweetener that doesn’t leave that horrible taste. Any fellow Aussie that can help me with a sweetener that tastes like sugar.

Also some suggestions on what I could make would be good needs to be Keto for me and my husband and the rest are just normal eaters so need to appeal to them.

Doesn’t answer your question really but I’m bringing a cheese platter to an Aus day BBQ. You could do that and take a pav from woollies for others to enjoy (if enjoy is the word!)

cheese cake?

Sukrin confection sugar is delicious and available on Amazon. I second the cheesecake idea.

Someone here posted this trifle recipe that I bookmarked for a later date…it might be something that you would consider…

Atkins flourless chocolate cake. Chocolate is quite bitter on it’s own and hides most sugarless tastes. I used Stevia. I generally don’t like it. I won’t make the cake again as I ate 1/2 the cake by myself last Sunday :yum:

It’s funny how we self punctuate… I thought there was something weird and anti-Keto down under called ‘Dessert for Australia’ Day!

Paid for by the sugar producers of Australia! :flushed:

I made this on Christmas Eve. (And posted in the forum) I hate the after taste that sweeteners have and this didn’t have it at all. Everyone liked it more than the other pies and sweets. :+1:t2::+1:t2:

Ha ha … nah.

BTW notice anything strange in the banner of the forums

This is Australia’s parliament house and it has a giant ketone on it’s roof
