Dessert and HWC, Opinion Wanted

(karen) #1

I’m eating with sugar burners tomorrow! Going to bring a dessert, probably a dense chocolate torte or maybe a chocolate cupcake with a raspberry couli, with whipped cream and raspberries on top. I’ll have raspberries and whipped cream and skip the cake. Opinion please: will the sugar burners think whipped cream with no sugar is gross? Should I make two batches? I don’t like artificial sweetener, I want mine plain.

I think if you’re already making a sugary dessert for your dinner companions, unsweetened whipped cream is totally fine, and many people prefer it that way. They can always sprinkle on some powdered sugar if they don’t like it, or skip the whipped cream altogether if they prefer. The fact that you’re making a sugar-sweetened dessert at all is pretty nice of you, no need to mess with the one aspect of the dessert you’ll get to enjoy!

Fuck 'em and show them what real food should taste like…

Naw … my one friend is in a wheelchair with a disease that will leave her with locked-in syndrome eventually if they don’t hurry up with some genetic research. If anyone gets to eat dessert first (or only, for that matter), it’s her.

My husband is German, and whipped cream in Germany (Sahne) is unsweetened. Just tell your friends it’s European. They’ll think it’s fancy.

Plain is fine
Specify that’s its unsweetened too

W me, I would bring some sugar packets and use as garnish. Make it real pretty. Pink and yellow packets too
“ here’s some sugar /packets I brought in my thoughtfulness “
Then just sit back and observe:flushed::thinking:

Pour some sugar on me/thee🤣
Song Pun I guess

Either way
Enjoy!!
