Day 4 and I'm still here

(Candace) #1

I started my Keto journey on March 1. I jumped in with both feet and started it with a month of zero carbs.

So far I’ve had an easy go with it. I was concerned about dairy and my blood sugars, as posted here, but dairy does not seem to be the problem. I had bulletproof coffee, first thing this morning, and for breakfast I had slices of Kerry Gold cheddar cheese, slathered in Kerry Gold butter, and a few bites of rib-eye. Two hours later, my blood sugars were 142.

My sugars are still higher than they should be, but I haven’t seen them higher than 182 since day 2, so I feel that is progress.

This group has been such a blessing, and reading everyone’s suggestions, successes, and struggles has truly helped.

Positives: I’m down 5.4 pounds - water weight, mostly - but it still counts.
Negatives: I’m feeling a bit blah, which just started this afternoon and I’m craving sugar. It will all pass, I know.

The first 4 days were the most difficult when I started. You are doing great!

I drown my sorrows of missing sugar in bacon. Makes me feel much better.
