Day 2

(Kevin Hopkins) #1

Well no more yo-yo diets! I’m only starting out, but after looking down at the scales last week and seeing the digits go up to 20st I decided enough is enough. I only found out about keto recently and decided this could work, I spent the last week reading everything I could about it, including stories from 100s of people who lost around 100lbs in under a year without breaking sweat, and was more than a little impressed. The hardest part for me will be going cold turkey on sugar! I tried WW and SW in the past, but you end up starving on them, and to stay within their limits I was allowed 3 squares of chocolate…who can only eat 3 little squares?!? better to quit altogether and hope the craving go away quick. Only day 2, but I’ve not been hungry, cold meat salad at lunch an steak or fish with veg for dinner…its surprising how far 20g of carbs will go in a day.

Good luck with it. I had dropped 20 pounds since December before going keto at the end of March, but in a month I’ve dropped a further 19. Pounds are dropping like a dress on prom night.

One thing you’ll hear a lot is how cravings subside or go away completely on Keto. I know it’s true for me. If I get a good smell of something sweet right under my nose, I might wish I could take a bite, but beyond that, I don’t desire it at all.
From one yo-yo’er to another kCKO.

Yup! Just focus on the carbs for now. And make sure you get in the fat. There will be a transition time that may feel rought - but hang in there - the rest will come. Slow and steady is the game.
