Will this pass? Only day 2 and im looking at food porn on line hehehe… in all seriousness, I ate a great meal at 6 am and im really struggling right about now…
Day 2 OMAD and super hungry
I have found MCT oil and fat bombs to be my friend.
Before Keto I was a supers snacky person -I play a ton of video games and around midnight I will start craving snacks. Force of habit I suppose.
When on a fast I use bone broth, with a bit of MCT oil added and find that it helps to maintain my fast
Hope this is helpful
Just started OMAD yesterday… had no issues, ate the same amount of calories, same macros today. Only difference is im working the 1130-830 shift today and yesterday was a straight 8-5
Shifts can definitely mess things up & we sometimes get hungry at certain times of the day more out of habit than anything else. Personally I find a large lunch the best/most satisfying way to OMAD so perhaps play around with which meal you choose to find the one that suits you best.
We definitely have a favorite time of day to eat when we only eat one meal a day. For us, it’s supper. For us, breakfast isn’t hard to skip as it’s just a matter of getting busy with something else. Breakfast is easily forgotten. Lunch just isn’t on the menu for us anymore and we’re not accustomed to eating in the middle of the day. So just keeping busy usually finds us forgetting all about lunch. As supper time approaches, we might feel like we’re getting a little hungry, which is fine, but we won’t pick / snack / nibble at anything because it could ruin our supper.
I’m sure it’s different for different people.
What would OMAD be without a word from Berg?
23 Benefits of OMAD (One Meal a Day) Intermittent Fasting
Yeah I agree with @anon54735292 shifts just screw with your body clock regardless of whether you’re keto or not. You may find TMAD better when you switch shifts, I don’t know but something to try out perhaps?
Its the only time I have to make a real meal without the fear of overeating… I love starting my workday out fed… it equates to being prepared, im weird like that. Ill hit the gym after my shift tonight and hopefully it will distract me ha!
You went from four meals a day to one!! No wonder you’re hungry. I would ease into it.
Being new to keto make sure you are getting your total caloric intake until you are adapted. The transitions your body is going through need all the fuel it can get during this time. OMAD runs the risk of deficit eating so don’t let this happen.
No gym for this girl tonight. I had a bit of Himalayan salt and now I’m feeling pretty mellow.
Why are you afraid of overeating? Aren’t you eating fat to satiety? Your body will definitely tell you when you’ve had enough.
I could eat fat all day, I don’t seem to get satiated like I’m supposed to… it’s a problem
This morning at 7 I had my OMAD.
I had homemade collard greens: 2 1/2 cups raw collards, 2 tbsp. apple cider vinegar, 1 strip of bacon crumbled, 2 tbsp. kerrygold garlic and herb butter and 1/8 cup of onion. Sauteed it to perfection, added 6 ounces of grassfed beef and 12 macadamia nuts and a healthy amount of pink Himalayan salt. Along with that I had my coffee made with 1 tbsp. cacao butter, 1 tbsp. brain octane fuel and 1 tbsp. kerrygold unsalted butter. Blended to perfection, my coffee was luxurious and my meal was terrific. Now at 3 hours later, my tummy is uncomfortably full
