Day 1 meal 1 - did I do ok?

So today is day 1 of my Keto journey. I had planned in advance and had food at home to bring in to work. However I had a crappy morning and completely forgot my food. I am only going to be eating 2 meals a day, so on my lunch break I went into town on the hunt for what I could eat. I had no idea where to start, I looked at the menu in the cafe at the supermarket and noticed they do a ‘create your own’ all day breakfast. So I ordered 3 rashers of bacon, scrambled egg and a fried egg. Does this seem ok? I’m already seeing I’m going to struggle to get my calories in with no snacking and just 2 meals!

You did fine. You could actually eat more if your only eating 2x a day.

Also, I’m going out for a friends’ birthday this evening to a restaurant (tricky first day!!!). So I am planning on having the 8oz ribeye steak and switching the poatoes for one of the sides - Spinach sautéed with extra virgin olive oil.

Hi Hannah,
Looks good to me. Just a reminder for the early days of keto. Do not restrict calories or fat if you feel hungry find a fatty snack. After a few weeks, your body it will feel easier to go to 2 meals a day with no effort. When in doubt eat more fat. When I started keto Dec 2017, I was eating 3x a day with a snack of cheese and nuts. Then the snacks were gone. Next thing I was pushing breakfast back further. A few weeks later, no breakfast just lunch and dinner. A few weeks more a snack and then a good fatty dinner. Trust us don’t make it hard, slow down ; the weight loss happens if that’s what you’re looking for. Unless you have a special occasion you’re shooting for. Enjoy the ride.

When you first start you really need to eat, eat, eat. Then next thing you know you simply don’t want to. IF will come easily then.

Thanks for the tips! I wish I have picked up some cheese now to snack on. Although I don’t feel hungry as such… just feel like I could eat more, and that’s a habit I need to break. Recently I’ve jsut been eating until I am completely full. I probably didn’t need over hald of what I ate!

I will do, thank you! Yes it is not the easiest day to start… however I had the 1st March in my head for some time so I wasn’t going to let anything come in the way of it!
