Cruise success

I was going to put this in non-scale victories but technically it is scale related. Just returned from 4 night cruise and managed to not gain any weight. also even though I was not fully keto I still maintained .6-.8 fasted blood ketone levels which I didn’t expect (especially after the one night that I knew I was going to have the dessert)

My plan going in:
every morning go to the breakfast buffet and bulk up on eggs and bacon (I did have a little hash which has some carbs but it was mostly a delivery vehicle for fried eggs)
Don’t eat the bread at the meals
If I needed a snack between meals I would go to the burger restaurant up on deck and have a bunless burger
only indulge in the no sugar added desserts
Only drink (alcohol) Michelob Ultra or hard liquor with diet soda

I ended up eating small amounts of potato on entrees and the salmon had breading that I didn’t expect.
I ended up eating snacks that were burger, hot dog, brats, and one day a bunless philly cheesesteak
I had a bad meal at an island but did a lot of walking that day
and for our anniversary meal the tradition was a chocolate souffle’.

And ironically I was reading in more depth Obesity Code while on the cruise.

I was afraid I was going to come back 10 pounds heavier but managed a win!

Just picked up the “Obesity Code” from the library. Hey @LeCheffre, here’s my book. A high achievement author,

It’s on my Kindle along with Art & Science. Probably this month. Maybe.

I did a 4day as well, nailed the food part, but the beverage package was off the chain. 10lbs gain from Michelob Ultra(liquid bread lol) but it came off within 4 days. It’s amazing how not drinking alcohol at all broke my stall of 6mo, drinking on the cruise really showed me this was good advice to give. I would have low carb beer on the weekends, and try to walk it off, but the 6mo stall was stressing me, not drinking totally broke my stall :frowning: miss my Ultras, but the scale is moving again.

So glad I saw this topic! My wife and I are celebrating our 25th year anniversary in May, so I’m glad to hear there are so many food options on the boat. I’ve been having the Michelob Ultra Light at home, and I do enjoy it, so hopefully my ship will have that as well.

i did find that Disney Cruise does have it but they also allow you to bring 6 cans or 2 bottles of wine per 21+ person so I came prepared
