Crepini Egg Thins! Get them at Costco

(Carolus Holman) #1

Found these at my local Costco (Frisco Texas). Crepini Egg Thins. These are great for making Tacos, or hand held Keto Dishes. They have 0 Carbs, though could contain less than <1 gram.

Give them a try, they certainly taste great and hold up!

Link to Reddit Keto Thread on these products.

Those look great - wish they used avocado oil instead of canola but they can’t have much with 0g fat (rounded down) so I would eat these occasionally when I wanted a wrap.

Where are they located?

I may have to go to Costco this weekend. I’m not looking for myself, per se, but for my kids. Though I might try one.

The Costco I got them at is located At Eldorado and the Dallas North Tollway (DNT).

That is a concern as we are trying to remove Rapeseed (Canola) oil from our diets! But I agree it seems like a low amount.

Always appreciate getting a heads-up on interesting keto items! (… and Costco continues to expand its offerings on a regular basis.)

To be candid though, as for this particular item, we’d have to give it a gentle “thumbs-down” here at our house.

Having bought a pack about a month ago, we’ve found they’re not being used much if at all after a few tries.

Basically, they’re SO thin that we can’t get them to hold up well. They pretty much fall apart if you put much food inside. Wrapping them up around anything but a “mush filling” they break apart.

And they don’t add much in terms of flavor, they’re primarily just a delivery vehicle for the fillings. That’s not a bad concept, but since we haven’t found them to hold up well as a delivery vehicle, the rest of the package has been sitting in the fridge in plain sight but ignored. Maybe I’ll try again and see if I can address these glitches somehow.

Then again, perhaps we got a weird batch or something. But unless we have a breakthrough in how to use them, I don’t think we’ll be buying this item again. Any tips on how to work with them would be appreciated.

Good concept - so far it seems to us that the execution is lacking. YMMV.

There is no way our Costco in Canada will have them unfortunately. Every time someone on here posts cool Keto stuff from Costco I ask at my Costco and they look it up, and tell me only in the States… I am happy for you guys but sad that I cannot get them here as well! Grrrr.

I doubled them up and used them to make a steak and egg taco, worked out really well. I can see them being fairly fragile, flavor-wise, bland like a traditional tortilla, and if you compare them to Corn Tortillas they seem on par. I suppose my expectations are pretty low on most of these products, but in this case they worked well, and after being on the KETO way of living for 689 days, they were a welcome change.

Sorry, I meant “Where are they located in the store? Cold storage? Near bread? Etc.”

I’ve seen other people recommend cheese tortillas, but I’ve never seen them, as I’m probably not going down the correct isle. It’s like looking for macadamia nuts – these for some reason are hard to find in Costco. Half the time, I can’t find them.

Doubling them up (!) … great idea. They’re not getting used now, so that’s well worth a try. Thanks for the suggestion

At our Costco, we found them in the refrigerated aisles (cheeses, soups, packaged meat items, guacamole, hummus, etc.). We also have a pack of those “cheese tortillas” and - once we figured out how LITTLE microwave time they need, as in about 5 seconds (!) - they’re working really well in holding up with a mess of heavy ingredients, like lots of meat and guac.

yes, I found them by the meats/cheeses on an End-Cap. I was looking for Parmesan Cheese!

Saw these used in a Lasagna recipe – https://twitter.com/2Min_Keto/status/1167176731603554304

They would probably be great for use as quesadillas, fried up in a pan with meat and cheese in the middle.

(Patrick) #14

Not sure if anyone else has posted these, but Costco also sells these Folios cheese tortillas. They’ve been a game changer for me. I make “sandwiches” in them and eat it like a taco.

(Edith) #15

My goodness, I can’t wait to go to my Costco to see if they have them both!

#16

I love how Costco is leading the way with cage-free eggs and other great stuff in their mass-produced foods - along with stocking lots of Kerrygold butter and cheese! I will have to check those out, thanks!

(Bob M) #17

Bummer. My wife looked for both of these and could not find them at our Costco. I was hoping for something to make our kid’s lunches with.

(Susan) #18

We don’t have anything at all Keto bread/wrap wise in our Canadian Costco either -atleast none in Ontario, maybe other provinces do.

(Edith) #19

Yeah, I was disappointed, as well. I tried looking for them just yesterday. :disappointed_relieved:

The next time I go, I will try to remember to ask them why these aren’t there. It’s odd that only some Costco’s have them.
