Crazy Immune system question

Here’s an odd one…does starting Keto do anything to weaken your immune system? I’m not one to get sick very often at all but about a week after starting Keto I got a nasty cough and cold that I just can’t seem to kick.
Also, does taking any medicines interfere with Keto?

I’m sure some of the experts here will chime in soon… but as far as I know, keto actually strengthens your immune system. That said, the first few weeks put your body through some changes, so it might be weaker while it’s changing fuel systems? Just a guess…

As far as meds, I think Doc Nally on the Keto Talk podcast listed a ton of meds that might increase insulin, but if it were me, I’d mainly watch for the carb content of sugary things like cough syrup.

Are you measuring whether you’re in ketosis?

Thanks!!
I’m pretty sure I am. Although I haven’t been able to get to a health store/pharmacy yet to buy any strips to test. I’m s truck driver. It’s hard to get places sometimes lol.
I’ve already lost about 8 pounds of water weight too though. And I’ve had no more than 20 carbs a day since 6/27

I am having the same problem. It isn’t keto flu I had that briefly when I started. I started and was keto for four weeks, stopped because of a vacation (dumb idea). And then started again. I have been sick off and on for 4 weeks. A cold that gets bad then almost better then comes back again as soon as there is the slightest stress or not enough sleep. This has never happened to me before.
