Im not sure I’d say a 6-figure settlement of a class action is a loss. Sounds like a nuisance settlement to me.

More like a rounding error for Costco. This was obviously a business decision to get the case finalized.

For some people its “money for nothing and checks for free!”

yes the money is small but they changed their labelling, that is not small for our WOE

Well some of Costco’s customers know the truth about coconut oil. No way I am going to think of it besides ‘healthy fat’. The courts can suck it and not sure who brought the case, but I bet big ag is behind it some how. Since USA can’t grow much coconut, just corn, sunflowers, rape, etc. for cooking oils.

More likely an enterprising attorney saw the report the AHA released and then got a class-action suit together to make some money. Costco doesn’t want to fight it because they just sell what people want to buy, doesn’t matter to them what the label says as long as people buy it. Buy it certainly is a step backward for getting the word out that its healthy.
