@AnnM that is my go-to emergency (ok, anytime I feel like it) breakfast. I love it! Plus, I feel better about ordering the muffin as opposed to the biscuit, because I believe the egg they put on the biscuit is the liquid variety and not actual egg. @Holaaabritxoxo, you can correct me if I’m wrong. AND, since they always put the cheese between the muffin and the egg (which just sticks to the muffin), I order them without cheese, then I know I’m getting a fresh one, FTW!
Confused and discouraged
I agree, the Egg McMuffin sandwiches are the only ones that have real egg; everything else has some other non-tasty substance.
Yes the muffin eggs are 100% real cracked eggs every time they are made. The scrambled eggs are liquid and as far as what goes on the biscuits they’re just warmed up. They aren t bad crab wise but I don’t eat them. Lol
I keep butter out on my counter in a butter dish and have for YEARS and never got sick. Butter does not need refrigeration as long as it is consumed in a couple of weeks. Not a problem in my house!!!
You can bring it to work to add to your food w/o access to a fridge.
For now, just keep your carbs under 20 and the rest will sort itself out as you become fat adapted. Going over on protein early on is ok.
This!
Even when I started in 2017 I rarely tracked macros, every once in a while to see if I was totally off. I did not track calories either and feel that within reason they are irrelevant. You do not want to diet now, there is nothing wrong with eating cheese or adding it to food unless you have a dairy intolerance
You do not want the stress of counting to derail this method of eating. Eat but it should be keto. As was said, the fewer times you eat the better, there is nothing wrong with being hungry as long as you channel it into something keto to eat and do not start overeating carbs
Not trying to use it at an excuse by any means but I think all the counting and adding is what led to small cheat snack tonight. I want this to feel like a lifestyle change not a diet but I know we can’t always get what we want lol
Don’t worry about the cheats. I spent the first 2.5 weeks of keto breaking it by eating a bowl of cereal every day until the cereal was gone out of my house. All other meals were keto, but I couldn’t just throw away the cereal! Once it was gone, I’ve been keto ever since. I did slowly drop my carbs from 80 - 25 in the first 4 weeks, as I was having too many hypoglycemic attacks. Haven’t had any in the last 3+ weeks and my BS has been good, whether fasting or not.
