Confession: Quest Hero Caramel Pecan Bars

(Cece Blackstock) #1

My hubby and I frequently shop Grocery Outlet, and look for keto goodies (avocado oil, pork rinds, grass fed meats, etc…) but yesterday we found a box of Quest Hero caramel pecan bars… (normally $25) for $10… we bought a box… I ate one yesterday… today I feel like I’m dying… I know better, but couldn’t resist.

Confession over… Lesson learned! Never again!

These don’t affect my ketones or glucose at all. I feel great after eating them.

Lucky duck!

(Ethan) #4

I wonder what affects you. Allulose is the sweetener used. I haven’t seen much evidence that it has insulin or glucose effects.

(Cece Blackstock) #5

Naw, I’m pretty sure it’s the whey protein… I know better than to have something like that. I know how it makes me feel… but I wanted candy! Lol! Or it could have been any one of the other ingredients too…

(Ethan) #6

Maybe… did you test ketones by any chance?

(Cece Blackstock) #7

Nope! Just feel awful! :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Huge Grocery Outlet Fan!
I get my wild Planet sardines there too

(Miss E) #9

did it have soy in it?

personally i hate the taste of quest bars, all I can taste is the sugar alcohols

(Chris) #10

I got hooked on Quest bars a year ago. Might as well be a slight improvement over candy bars. Only limiting factor to me eating the hell out of them was the cost.

(Ethan) #11

Virtually no sugar alcohol in the cereal or hero bars or cereal bars. They have like 1g only. They use allulose instead.

(Cece Blackstock) #12

Me too! I pick up huge jars of avocado mayo to go with the sardines! :yum:

I don’t think it has soy, at least according to the label… I think it was the whey that bugged me so bad!
