i am in fact not a pressure cooker idiot! :joy:

between all of the Instant Pot posts and my friend’s boyfriend bringing home a power pressure cooker XL that’s she’s been using daily i decided to give the one i have another shot…
since my friend has one we were able to do some troubleshooting and mine is missing the Float Valve!
that’s the main thing otherwise you’re just steaming the curtains :joy:

luckily the person who gifted it to me purchased it from QVC and they offered replacement
sooooo…i should be able to join the instant pot amazement in a few weeks :blush:

I lost my valve washing it, gotta be careful. You can buy new ones on their website for cheap if you ever lose it in the future

I can’t tell you how in love I am with mine. I’ve only had it two weeks and I’ve amazed myself about how good dishes are coming out from it… and I was raised a chef!!!

this one came out of the shipping box without one…i’d never had one so i thought i was just being a newbie and doing something wrong lol

now that i know it isn’t me i’m overly anxious to get this one shipped back and replaced!

Glad you found the problem. I love mine. I used it THREE times yesterday. I made a batch of hard boiled eggs, used it to brew tea concentrate for my kombucha, and a batch of coconut yogurt is just now finishing its incubation.

i’m excited!
i also discovered there are accessories!!!
racks, baskets, pans, molds…my kitchen is too small for all of this fun lol
