Colloidal Silver instead of prescription

(Katie) #1

I recently had an infection. I have read so much about the use of antibiotics destroying the good gut bacteria… so I used colloidal silver instead.

I’ve used it for years externally … but this is the first time I tried it internally to avoid antibiotics.

The question is… does it kill everything too? Did it kill off the infection or did it just go away by Itself? I didn’t tell my Doc I never filled the prescription… but, everything looks back to normal.

One friend thinks I was risking killing myself by not using the proscribed drug. Makes me doubt what I did.

Any actual science out there to help me sort through this? Should I not do this in the future? Did I dodge a bullet or cure myself?

When I was on my squirrel rehab forum someone was arguing for the use of oral colloidal silver for a sick animal and some of the members with vet backgrounds warned against it because it can cause problems and hasn’t been clinically proven to work better than the recommended antibiotic. That being said, it would take a whole lot more to cause long term effects in a human than it would a tiny animal. I don’t have the studies on hand but I thought I’d share this maybe get you started.

One incidence of a man who had kidney involvement due to using it in a mouthwash for years.

My son is taking a teaspoon every day. His autism specialist has him on several supplements, I think it’s an immune booster to help his possible Lyme disease infection in our case. The infection hasn’t been confirmed because it’s old. :cowboy_hat_face:

When I was recovering from mono the first time, my immune system was suppressed. I kept getting recurrent, persistent lung infections. I got right sided walking pneumonia twice. My PCP (a nurse practitioner specializing in women’s health, open to some alternative medicine practices) encouraged me to take colloidal silver (first) and then 4Life Transfer Factor Plus. I felt like the colloidal silver didn’t help me much. The 4Life Transfer Factor Plus seemed to protect me from further infections.

I have seen Colloidal Silver work wonders on animals! A friend has a dog that was attacked by a coyote. Almost skinned the dog. Anyway she is doing great now. Totally healed. Also my sister had Shingles, she sprayed it topically, 3x a day, and it helped with duration and the pain. I Also I have used it as eye drops. For Infection in my eyes. After a few days. It’s gone. Not sure I would take it internally. An old fella that.lives in our area, has been taking it for yrs. Actually has a noticeable, Blue or grayish color to his skin. So these are just a few personal examples.

I know of someone who turned blue from doing this – and it’s an irreversible condition. True story – here’s another famous case. If that doesn’t scare you away from it, I don’t know what will.

Hi Katie,

It’s true. A very few uniformed persons over used and abused colloidal silver and turned blue.

The rest of us learn to use it responsibly, to great effect for all kinds of things.

The OP here is wise in doing research.

The original question: short answer is yes. Colloidal silver kills bugs, fungus, mycoplasm etc. But the most up to date research says it is wise to re-seed the gut microbiome with probiotics when ingesting colloidal silver. I also take a course of organic kefir along with the probiotics.

I just finished a two week course of silver “anti-biotic” for a pseudomonas infection in my leg, and took a probiotic each day ( hours away from the silver doses, which I took twice a day so as to keep it circulating for as long as possible in my system). Now I am doing the kefir. By the way, I also sprayed the silver on the wound daily. It’s getting better each day.

Here is some info that might interest you, and you can make up your own mind:

They were intending to give a “guessed” oral dose to a neonate, which is why folks were worried. Topically we used it on animals when I was a vet tech. I should have specified.(Edited my post for clarity.)

Colloidal Silver (30ppm) should not be used for more than 10 days straight. Regular 10ppm can be used on a maintenance basis if desired.

(Wendy) #10

Yeah it’s good stuff if used correctly. Just not sure of Internal use on humans.

(Katie) #11

I have used it at 60ppm as a mouthwash for the last 30 years. Never any problem. I think he must have had some other issue going…and I never had any kind of issue with any gum or sores…ever

I’ve used colloidal silver for decades…mostly on external wounds…I wouldn’t use anything else.

I take 4Life Transfer Factor Plus and I can say with certainty that it’s improved my immune system. I have lab tests to prove it.

Colloidal silver was the only thing that took away DH’s pink eye.

It had become blood shot after use of OTC pink eye antibiotics. Within three days of starting the silver (1 tbsp 4 times a day, more is okay too) his bloodshot eyes were back to normal, AND it helped him with the other concurrent infections that were making him bedridden for about two months.

I swear by it now.
