Cold weather hunger

(Maura hAGERTY) #1

The cold weather has finally kicked in. I live in the Himalayas and there is no central heating here, he only part of the day that I’m fully warm and cozy is in bed under my covers. I digress.
I’ve reached my goal, and so far so good on the maintenance. But the cold weather is leaving me so hungry I can’t seem to eat enough! Perhaps its the change of light. or just my body wanting to warm up by eating. Any suggestions on beating my winter appetite?

Hibernation instinct. It happens to me every fall.

I live by the Rocky Mountains, the same thing happens to me, appetite does increase.

I just make sure my meals have lots of healthy fats, fatty meats and lots of butter on the veggies.I also find if I do some simple stretching exercises, to get my blood circulation up, it helps a lot. Also dress in layers. While I do have central heat and the house is cozy, I do health walks outside as long as it is not too fridge outside. I try to keep my resistance to the cold up.

I have been maintaining for over a year now.
