Coffee shop decision when no cream

(Cath Empson) #1

I am sitting at the coffee shop with no cream available To sad
My question I settled for piccolo and it was suggested by the server a latte with organic almond milk
I searched FP but it suggested high carbs with almond milk
What does everyone drink with their java
Thank you in anticipation if you have any advice

If its unsweetened almond milk, then it would be very low carb. On the order of 1g or less per 8oz serving.

I use butter and/or hwc and then add in MCT oil and blend it. I do not frequent coffee shops. If I end up there, I just get half&half or whatever they have and use it sparingly.

A different coffee shop!

Or this.

Reminds me of one time some co-workers of mine and I went to lunch at a restaurant we hadn’t been to before. We ordered our drinks. When the waitress brought them, and then asked what we wanted, the first guy asked her “what do you recommend?” and without skipping a beat she said “Another restaurant, but you already got drinks.”

I always ask for butter. They think I have 3 heads and then give it to me.

Espresso shot, with no sugar (black)

Was really excited that my mother in law, who is gf, managed to do almost all low carb treats for our visit!

I was able to fill my plate with pulled pork (I added melted kerrygold butter on top to up the fat and add some “sauce” without adding sugar or over junk), spinach cheese dip, 7-layer taco dip (avoided beans both bc carbs and because I hate their texture), cocktail shrimp, mini peppers with ranch…think that’s “it”. Very tasty! Bc I brought my own butter I used her nutri bullet blender to make my keto coffee too. Also had some nuts! Overall it was way easier to stick to my routines (fasting, food, and fitness) whine away from home than expected which was a relief because I’m heading out on a 3-week trip to central and South America soon so this was a good low key test run! Anyone doing keto in another culture that is heavily reliant on rice and beans? :grimacing: Tips welcome!

This looks good!!!

The good news about Latin America is that there is a lot of fish and seafood. That will help you for keto.

Been there done that and seen the looks!

The butter is often cold so I need to sit there and warm it in my hands before I add it to the coffee and start stirring.

I sat in a coffee shop the other day with my aerolatte milk frother stirring my coffee after adding butter and coconut oil I had brought with me.

That’s awesome…have frother, will travel…

I keep a frother in my desk at work – people thought it weird at first, but now don’t even notice as I whip up my heavy cream. Yum

Great idea people, we have a milk frothed in our office that no one uses…until now

Nitrous cold brew!
