since I have started Keto Coffee be it BPC or with just HWC has been a staple of my life… I am curious to see how I am able to handle no coffee for a month… I am hoping to see an improvement with my acid reflux and perhaps not needing my OTC meds anymore…
Coffee free June
I’ll join you. I may be a little late starting, I want to have one more HWC latte! but I’ve been toying with the idea of giving up coffee for a couple reasons. First is the availability of good coffee while I’m on the road for work is horrible, and second, I believe the abundance of HWC I’m consuming is causing me to stall. Thankfully since loosing weight, I haven’t had a problem with gurd.
I am curious too… I’ve not gone very long with out coffee in a good while…
It’s not as bad as i’d thought it would be… its only the first day, i figured it would be the hardest…
This one will be easy for me!
(since I don’t like coffee… HA!)
Although, if you said caffeine free June, I’d be in a world of hurt. Good luck!
Day 2… so far I only had a head ache last night just before bed, i did take a couple ibuprofen and slept like a baby…
I have not really noticed any difference in my day… though on my lunch breaks I’ve dozed off (to be fair i was sitting with my eyes closed listening to podcasts, (not 2keto dudes))… so that might be a thing… though I imagine once i get a few days in that will go away…
Good luck, I had 3 ulcers, so the doctor ordered me to stop drinking coffee. I suffered for a week with headache. I still drink decaf with HWC though. After 6 months of no real coffee + prilosec OTC, I’m happy to report that my ulcers are gone.
I was wondering how this was going. Are you drinking any other beverage with caffeine? Are you trying to cut caffeine or coffee (or both)? TIA!
Just drinking ice water with salt lite… Coffee is really the only source of caffeine I have, I really only drink water and coffee… So it’s really just the coffee, I want to see if I can get myself off Prilosec OTC (I take the generic Walmart version)
When I do coffee-free stints, it’s usually like day 3 that’s the tricky one. But upping my water usually helps.
Well @Bahrutile, I never did get that last latte but that’s ok, when it comes to lattes it’s the cream I crave! Working on full day number 2! I don’t think this is going to be as hard as I thought.
My heartburn isn’t as bad as I thought it might be without meds, we’ll see if it gets better it worse…
Alright so I’ve not had coffee at all this month… I’ve stopped taking my heartburn meds, I’m going to fast for 72 hours to see if I can help this process along as I’m still seeing some mild heartburn…
I did this in January (and I’ll join you myself this month) as I was wanting to ditch my Coke Zero habit. It worked.
The withdrawal symptoms of caffeine are worth a Google. I got the headache behind an eye that spread over my head, for a couple of days. I also got the afternoon of sleeping, another symptom, tiredness. I hadn’t checked these until after it happened, but realised that is what was happening after checking with the Googs.
I’m not much of a coffee drinker, but am joining in as it interferes with iron absorption, and I am very anaemic at the moment. It may also be of benefit to my psoriasis, I’ve read.
Last week on Fasting Talk, they mentioned that it will cause an insulin spike at some point, so that’s another reason, if you are at the point of minor tweaks, that it’s a reason to skip coffee for a month and see…
