I’m kinda curious to see how this will go for another reason, 7 years ago i quit smoking cigarettes, I used coffee as a crutch to helps with the cigarettes…

I enjoyed Kombucha as a treat, and had ACV in fizzy water as the replacement.

(Dustin Cade) #23

Alright, today is 13 days with no coffee, 12 days with no heartburn meds, though I have started taking ACV supps again, they do aid with the heartburn… this past weekend we were out of town to visit with family, those #ZornTinies came in really handy so thanks to @Brenda for that!

(Jessica) #24

Good job!

I’ve cut all caffeine after noon because I’m trying to get a handle on insomnia (I must be getting old ) I’d like to eventually get off all caffeine.

(Dustin Cade) #25

Id like to be able to go back to coffee, just not sure it will be a thing…

(Charndra Pile) #26

No coffee for 15 days!
I THINK I am sleeping better, even though I am a sporadic coffee drinker, one at playgroup on a Friday, three when I visit a friend and scoff cream filled coffee all day, one occasionally on the weekend at home- that sort of randomness.

Hi Jessica, I find the podcast “Sleep With Me” is a great help. Scooter waffles on in a droning voice, I can’t stay awake. I’m a sci-fi geek, so I’m listening to the ‘Sleep with TNG’ series, where he rambles on about various episodes of Star Trek, the Next Generation.

I give up coffee every month, all year, b/c coffee is vile. Love the smell, but not the taste.

(Jessica) #29

Thank you! I’ll have to check that out.

day 20 with no coffee… I’ve not taken my heartburn meds in 19 days, though yesterday i did shift my daily eating schedule from 2pm to 8pm to 9am to 3pm… this did come from residual heartburn and listening to Dr. Rhonda Patrick and her advise to eat early with an intermediate fasting schedule. So I guess there is have been more changes ha.

(Charndra Pile) #31

Eating earlier is good, I’m finding that too.
However, the appetite surge at c8pm is still hard! If I’m Fasting, it’s inevitably the point I decide “oh, 48 hours is a great fast” Which it is, but 12 more hours, I’d be into day 3, when the ghrelin levels are dropping down…sigh. Can you tell this happened to me last night while making dinner for my family? Oh well. Fasting until dinner tonight after my high fat meal last night!

(Dustin Cade) #32

Still no coffee, will probably have some July 1st, to see how it does with my heartburn.

(Dustin Cade) #33

So I lasted to within 3 hours of July… We went out last night so I figured at 9pm only 3 hours till July 1st is have an iced coffee! So delicious, I’m enjoying one as I type this!

So how’s your heartburn? I’ve had reflux since I was 15, and it’s so much worse on keto so far (day 13). I’m assuming it will level out with time, but I’m considering dropping coffee.

(Dustin Cade) #35

I continued with my heartburn meds for a good while after starting keto, though I did stop taking them, I have though added coffee back to my diet… I have a little heartburn once in a while, but nothing like the raging force it once was that caused me to throw up stomach acid…

#36

Maybe I’ll lay off the Zantac for a while before blaming the coffee. I’m happy enough with minor heartburn, but right now “raging force” is right on. Daytime used to be totally fine for me.
