Are there any sweeteners that you find acceptable: stevia, xylitol, allulose, erithrytol, sucralose, etc?
Cocoa powder recipes?
All those stores you listed are 90 minutes from me
Amazon is my best friend!
I have organic Ceylon cinnamon (fancy pants, I know, but my mom sells it online so I get it for free, woohoo!). Will have to try this.
I used to use liquid stevia in my coffee after I quit sugar, but I was never thrilled with the taste.
I bought swerve several months ago for baking (used it twice, I think. I’m just not much of a baker.) I still have a huge bag.
I have just recently decided to stop using AS’s because so many people report that it spikes their insulin, or makes them hungry. I don’t test (I have a needle/lancet phobia), so I don’t know if it would have an effect on my insulin, but I don’t want to risk it.
I used to use flavored water drops that had an AS in it, I forget which one, but I have discontinued using it as well. I know this current fast is the easiest one I’ve ever done, and I can’t help but think the AS’s were making me hungry.
Ah, then why would you want cocoa powder? I rarely eat artificial sweeteners (prefer to eat real sugar instead), but if you want something both sweet and low carb, that’s what you’re stuck with. And actually, I’m testing zero chocolate now, and it does seem like lower oxalates is better for me. Or at least my hip feels better without chocolate.
I bought it months ago before cutting AS’s. Are you saying the cocoa powder itself will taste sweet, thereby triggering hunger?
I actually dont want something sweet. Just trying to figure out how to use it now so that it’s not wasted.
Pretty much anything with cocoa powder is gonna use a sweetener. Are you using real sweeteners like Allulose since they’re an actual sugar or even Stevia, or avoiding anything that sweetens? If just the chemical-ish ones then there’s a ton of options from brownies to cookies to mugcakes.
Gasp! I forgot about that!!!
HWC, unsweetened cocoa powder, vodka… Now I’m thinking raspberries wouldn’t hurt the situation, not one bit.
#nosweetener. We don’t need no stinkin’ sweetener!
I just saw your “no dairy” disclaimer… I have to say. I love Dark chocolate. Like, dark. So I have no problem leaving the sweetener out of any recipe. The Chinese say that 吃苦 (eat bitter) is a virtue. Now, they mean that enduring hardship is a virtue. I say, bitter foods are great! Coffee! Unsweetened or super dark chocolate! Bitter melon… okay, there are exceptions. Actually, I like bitter melon in a recipe, just not by itself.
Embrace the bitter.
So, non-dairy recipes… . Cocoa powder, raspberries, coconut oil, mixed and refrigerated?
Cocoa powder in peanut butter!
I use a teaspoon of cocoa in my breakfast coffee: two egg yolks (I’m sure seperating yolks in my hands is a great manicure tip,) 100ml HWC (or butter or whatever,) one Tbsp coconut oil (if you don’t use HWC or butter, I wouldn’t skip the coconut oil) if I feel like it. Mixed into the first couple cups of coffee.
Cocoa powder sprinkled on top of unsweetened keto pancakes.
Cocoa powder is powerful stuff, so a container will last you a good while… but it can be used in a myriad of things.
I didn’t really measure, but I started each time with around 1 tablespoon of coconut oil, 1 tablespoon of coconut butter, just a drop or two of the extract and then added about a teaspoon of the cocoa. I always did small batches out of fear I might like them too much lol.
Pork Rinds!!!
My answer to most recipes
Warm up some pork rinds ( I add buttter )
NA, since ur dairy free, maybe coconut butter I guess will work
Add in almond milk or coconut milk
Sprinkle on some cinnamon, nutmeg, or pumpkin spice
You can also add in unsweetened coconut
AND THEN lots of your Cocao Powder
Now You have cinnamon toast Crunch with a CHOCOLATE tweek
Works for me
Or delete the almond milk or coconut milk
Then you have a Netflix movie night snack
