Chronic inflammation/gut biome/ not losing

#1

I’m wondering why I’m still feeling inflamed some days. I’ve tracked what I eat and it seems random and not related. I can tell because of how my rings fit. Wondering about gut health being a factor… and if inulin supplement may help. I already take turmeric and supplement with krill oil since I don’t like seafood. I also have a kind of burning sensation in my stomach but no reflux. Not sure if that is related. Definitely feeling stiff and sore on the days my rings are tighter. And less, but still sore other days. Rarely feeling that full energy I had back when I first started Keto. (8 months ago, was low carb for almost a year prior to that) also the scale isn’t moving and really hasn’t ever except the first few weeks. sigh there’s so much info out there and I try it all hoping for results. But. Nothing. Blood sugar is great, ketones between .3 and 1.2 depending on when I take the blood test. Thinking I should hire a Keto coach or just give up wanting to lose weight.
Suggestions on a good Keto coach and/or if inulin is helpful for inflammation?

I would go the other direction and eliminate as many things as possible with a short fast followed by a very simple diet like carnivore for at least a few weeks. Then start adding foods back in one at a time. There can be a delayed reaction between eating something that causes a response and the actual response so day to day observations on a varied diet will just leave you confused.

Stress can single handedly unravel our weight loss goals, even when we are doing everything right. Some other things that might hold us back are not eating enough, sneaky carbs, artificial sweeteners and snacking. Weighing and tracking your food, eliminating dairy and nuts, IF and EF might all be helpful to you.

I like @carolT’s idea of trying carnivore for a few weeks. Simplifying your diet might help you better pinpoint your gut issues and zero carb should encourage the burning of fat and reduce inflammation.

I had to go through and check all of my supplements for carb- additives, like startches, and change what I took.
Also, I think it was Dr. Berry or Thomas DeLauer who did a thing on Youtube about the gut issues, I believe. It seems that ACV can greatly reduce the acid issue (which seems a little counter-intuitive), but since I started it- I’ve no issues, and the weight is coming off. MIght give that a try.

Hi Ketogurl
I think the suggestion of eliminating certain foods and starting over is a great idea. When I first started keto. I couldn’t understand why I wasn’t losing weight and I was strictly following keto,my acid reflux was worse than ever. So I read a post on dairy. So I removed dairy for a week. Things improved. Acid reflux calmed down, and I started finally dropping weight! So just to see if dairy was the reason. I will on an occasion, have a fat bomb made with HWC. low and behold il be up half the night sitting up on the couch. Elimination seems to be key for me. I take a probiotic daily and unfortunately still take 10mg of generic prylosec.

I get good results from Beta HCl with pepsin. I threw out all my acid reducers because I had read that they’re really not all that great for you. And having more acid in my stomach, I digest the food a little better. I NEVER get acid reflux now

I third the suggestion to simplify your diet as much as possible for a few weeks. A typical allergen elimination diet is 6 weeks, then add items in one at a time to check for reactions, you can do the same with keto. Clear your diet of everything that isn’t a single-item food, if that doesn’t work then move into carnivore. Once your inflammation is under control, then start adding items one at a time.
