China Biobank study: daily fruit prevents diabetes?

Hello all,

This popped up in my Facebook feed today and I wanted to share it with the group. Seems like another self reported epidemiological study, so I assume that means it has little merit as science that should change or approach to Keto, but I wanted to get people’s thoughts on it.

It’s junk science. If you track half a million people, ask them what they eat over a period of 7 years and then look at what ailments they do or don’t suffer from you’ll get all kinds of “correlations” just by chance.
A statistician will tell you that under these circumstances a relative risk is only notable when it’s 2 or more. It’s nowhere near that in this case
