Chicken feet broth

(Eric) #1

I was at the store the other day and saw huge packs of chicken feet for the cheap. Anyone tried using them to make broth?

(Allie) #2

I’ve thought about it, but my dog would be devastated as I buy them for him… Apparently very good though, from what I’ve heard.

I add them to help make it more gelatinous. So good!

Oh yes, my favorite, usually next to the baby lamb hearts at Farmers Market! I usually throw them in with the Elk bones!

An asian woman recently told me that women eat them for beautiful skin.

(Eric) #6

Well I saw them and thought they have to be almost pure skin bone and connective tissue, which from my understanding is what we really want to make broth from. I’ll pick them up next time I’m there and give them a go

My dogs would be so ticked off at me if I boiled up chicken or ducks feet instead of giving it to them LOL.

Where do you live? They are UNGODLY expensive here in Austin! :grimacing:

(Karen) #9

Golly, I never see any of these items!!

Not to far from you. I’m in ft Smith Arkansas. Which is on the border of ar and ok.

Of course Tyson plants are everywhere here so that may help. They have pack that probably have 50+ feet for $3

(Candy Lind) #12

Oh, I know where you are! I’m a truck driver. Where did you find the chicken feet, and how much were they? I just might be able to get a friend to ship me some. LOL!

(Eric) #13

Walmart and between 3-4 bucks for a big pack

Dang. I paid 3.75 for an itty bitty pack at the farmers market last weekend. :disappointed_relieved:
