Chewing gum?

(Cristian Lopez) #1

Whats the best chewing gum I can get at the store?

trident,five,extra,orbit,etc?

(Shromona Das) #2

None. I’m sorry, but all of them are either with sugar or ā€œsugar freeā€. We don’t want that. We want natural sugar replacements, right? Like erythritol or truvia or stevia or monk fruit.
Get crafty and make some gummies if you crave them. Not gums, but gummies. You can do that by adding gelatin and some berry tea of your choice (or other flavours) combining ACV. That’s your keto friendly " wine" gums. There are tons of videos available online.

There are lots of gums made with erythritol or truvia or stevia or monk fruit.

XyloBurst is made with Xylitol and it’s very good. I have to get it at the Health Food Store though and it ain’t cheap.

(Danielle Morgan Goerke) #5

What brands Matt?

(matt ) #6

Danielle I just googled each sugar substitute and lots of gums came up. I cannot vouch for their taste or texture but they exist for sure!

(Stan Brooks) #7

No. I am fine with anything that doesn’t spike my insulin. Doesn’t matter to me if it’s found in the wild or made in a lab.

I go with Orbit Sugar Free Spearmint.

(Cristian Lopez) #8

thk you! 4 days later and I get an answer besides xylitol gum and dangers of artificial sweetner rant

(matt ) #9

What someone likes doesn’t tell you much. For example I don’t like Orbit. Just buy different brands until you find ones you like.

(Stan Brooks) #10

Very true, but I think his point was he wanted to have a starting place. So I gave him one.

(Cristian Lopez) #11

IK,but if we ran the forums under that mentality then what’s the point on reading other people’s point of view?

I was asking for what they think is best and there verdict, but I understand what you mean ;my choices aren’t made by the direction the herd of sheep take, but the direction I want to go!

Neverless I can’t use sheep as anology because if I did you would all be eaten already by someone,I wonder who? XD

(matt ) #12

I just looked and we have trident spearmint now… It’s not bad but its a bit much. I like Extra and Eclipse. I think we always get spearmint.

Carbs w or in most Gum

I just had 2 pieces of Extra Gum ( after my meal )
Each piece is 2 carbs😬, I think 2g of sugar alcohols as well

For the so called hidden carbs, would one count 4g of carbs to their Macros for the day?

Is their a master time release formula. Chew less time, release less carbs?:joy:
5 seconds , 20 seconds?
Actually I’m kinda curious if so

If

(Cristian Lopez) #14

Ive started chewing trident

  1. has most flavor
    2.better texture
3.1 carb per peice rather than 2 for extra

(Troy) #15

Good to know
Thanks

I normally read labels, my impulse took the best of me in my choice

Strategic product placement, it got me this time - placing candy and gum right by the check out register😩

(matt ) #16

Sugar free gums are zero carb. You don’t count sugar alcohols. Where are you seeing 1 and 2 grams per stick?

(Troy) #17

Thanks

Even in my added sweeteners. I do use sugar alcohols
Stayed away due to …DI
So I totally forgot to subtract sugar alcohols :grimacing:

At least the sugar alcohols are minimum on gum
I was okšŸ˜†

Timely.
Package right by me. Lol

No significant differences in the blood concentration of glucose, insulin and GIP or hunger were observed between groups. Our study suggests that fasting sugarless gum chewing can increase satiety and reduce the decrease in GLP-1 concentration.

(Dan Dan) #19

Agree

But I get both for variety and can get the 20 piece at the 99 cent store :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

(Cristian Lopez) #21

Same thing I do! I thought I was the olny one!

Cinnamon trident

and spearmint extra!!

Do you miss the dessert delights??
