Cheesewhich

#1

Anyone tried the store bought Cheesewhiches that they have at some grocery stores and gas stations?

Nutrition Info:
Calories 290
Carbs 1 g
Fat 25 g
Protein 16 g
Sodium 730 mg

Are these OK to eat on Keto? I’d think so, but considered they’re a packaged product, I thought I’d ask. Plus I like them too much and that’s not always a good sign haha.

Here’s the ingredients-

INGREDIENTS: PEPPER JACK CHEESE (PASTEURIZED CULTURED MILK, RED & GREEN JALAPENO PEPPERS, SALT & ENZYMES), SALAMI (PORK, BEEF HEARTS, SALT, CONTAINS 2% OR LESS OF BEEF, DEXTROSE, FLAVORINGS, LACTIC ACID STARTER CULTURE, NATURAL SMOKE FLAVOR, SODIUM NITRITE, SPICES, SUGAR, VITAMIN C [SODIUM ASCORBATE], BHA, BHT, CITRIC ACID), SMOKE FLAVOR ADDED (BHA, BHT, CITRIC ACID ADDED TO HELP PROTECT FLAVOR). CONTAINS: MILK.

I few little ingredients to be wary of, but I’d still eat it occasionally…

basically the sugar and some of the more chemically stuff would be the potential issue?

i find myself on rushed days (1 or 2 days a week) grabbing two of them for lunch, eating one around noon, one around 2pm. most days i have something more prepared with me.

The dextrose and sugars.

Personally I wouldn’t worry about it too much, better eating those than the carby alternatives.

Actually I’m kinda jealous they don’t sell them here in Australia. My wife would go nuts for these.

I make my own all the time. Just slices of corned beef or salami in between two slices of pepper jack cheese. I sometimes add a little horseradish and diced onions or a slice of tomato.

If I want to make it as a hot sandwich, I’ll put some pieces of Joseph’s Lavash Bread around it before microwaving for 20 seconds or so. When I get a package of it home, I cut them into sandwich sized pieces. They’re similar to low carb tortillas, but when used in sandwich-sized portions, I end up using far fewer carbs for sandwiches than I would using a tortilla as a wrap.

I buy em and enjoy them! Im not gonna stress myself crazy, it’s no/low carb so I’m good!

Well, I’m really big on zero carb myself. But in a pinch that doesn’t look too bad. I’ve been known to eat lunch with the kids at micky D’s . I’d get a couple of double quarter pounders with cheese and eat them with knife and fork. They never seem to understand “no bun. I don’t eat bread. Please don’t use the bun” and I end up tossing it out. Oh well, their loss. They could really save money.

By the way. What region are you in. I’ve never heard of these.

Yeah fast food burgers are another quick fix if I can’t have a “healthier” option. But with no bun (or ketchup) at least I can keep low carb.
