Check these burgers out 🙂

Just put together my food for at least two days… Maybe 3 ?

Grilled a couple 1/2 lb burgers yesterday… And what was cool, was that I actually baked a couple of nice sized keto buns in the BBQ too, as we didn’t want to heat up the house.
Those came out excellent, and I’m sure will have a bit of a smoky flavor too.
Plus lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, a fat slice of cheddar cheese, and a bunch of mayonnaise. They weighed 1 lb each… I weighed them

Anyway, sorry they had to be in the Ziplocs for the photo. It was a chore keeping them all together… So I struggled a bit to get them in the qt Ziplocs, and then used a straw to vacuum seal them. That will kind of pull them altogether, and make them easier to eat :slightly_smiling_face:

So yes, 1 for dinner, and one for an early breakfast. After that, at least a 26 hour fast… But depending on how I feel Monday morning, maybe 24 more hours, for a 48 hour fast.

Don’t even know how many cals these burgers would have… But lots of cheese, mayo, and beef, so maybe 1200 ?

  • The Keto recipe should give you the bun calories.
  • I’d ignore the calories from the fruit and vegetable as they will be very low.
  • The cheese slice on the left looks super thick - that’s about 230 calories if it was about 2 oz.
  • Beef is hardest to guess - depends on 70/30 or 80/20 or (no, please no) 93/7. Also depends on weight - if you buy a pound 80/20 ground beef it might list 1150 total calories for the raw meat - but that is not what you eat. According to the link below - you yield about 0.7 ounces of cooked meat for each ounce of raw meat - giving you around 400 calories per per burger (more calories for less cooked burgers I assume). Thats 24 grams of fat per burger - even though the raw nutrition label will list 45 grams of per burger. To correctly calculate your macros, you need to compute with the cooked food calories (especially important for bacon!).
  • Finally, you are the only one that knows how many tablespoons of mayonnaise you used - another important quantity as it is nearly pure fat at almost 100 calories per tablespoon.

Altogether - I don’t think near 1200 though.

I go to 5 guys burgers with the family sometimes, and according to the printed materials, the burger I order (double with bacon and cheese) seems to be quite high in calories. Much higher than I thought it would be.

Those look absolutely divine - I hope they tasted as good as they look!

Thanks all :slightly_smiling_face: They were really good, and really satiating.
I had the second one 16 hours ago, and not a bite of anything else since.
As I have already mentioned, I’m going to do at least a 26 hour fast… But depending on how I feel when I get up, I might just carry that on for 36… Or maybe even my first 48 hour fast :slightly_smiling_face:
Will report back…

OKay, good luck Chris =).
