No idea what has happened to me this past couple of weeks. I am cheating more often. What is the best way to recover next day after carbs dinner.
Cheating often
Depends on how much punishment you’re willing to put yourself through.
If it were me, I’d just shrug it off and keto on.
Other folk like to exercise like maniacs and fast until their ketones return.
Up to you!
That’s what I did last time I fasted but I was so light headed all the time like I was half awake.
Fasting is so hard for me since it’s so hard to skip my tea with lots of milk. I’ll try fast plus HIIT running.
Not-eating is not, in any way, compulsory.
since it’s so hard to skip my tea with lots of milk
Why not skip the carb overload? Kill the problem before it becomes one.
I still think you should try hwc or almond milk in your tea! Or a mix of both. You’d still get the creaminess with a lot less carbs.
I was very good with my keto diet I have reached 140 p from 215 since I started in December last year. But I have 2 little kids 8 and 20 months. One still latch on me. I used to be ambitious successful working woman. I am homemaker since last 2 years sometimes I just gets very stressed and frustrated and that is happening a lot this month and I am giving into the moment. Grocery shopping seems vacation to me.
Thanks!! It’s not like I am not happy. I am very very happy . I have wonderful husband and 2 beautiful healthy kids(touchwood). But sometimes you just want to run away from everything and hide somewhere. I have so many nice cloths that I started fitting in again but no time to wear them I am always in sweatpants.
What helped me was planning my meals ahead of time. Before I go to bed, I know exactly what I am going to eat the next day and I stick to the plan.
Today it’s ranch seasoned/roasted broccoli, a leftover pork chop and a few boiled eggs for lunch. Chicken legs drowned in Frank’s Red Hot and an avocado for dinner.
As my grandmother and mother would say, this too shall pass. One day those kids will be in school and won’t want you to hold them anymore and you’ll yearn for these days. But I totally understand how chaotic it be when you’re in the thick of it. Hang in there and be patient with yourself. Punishing ourselves never helps.
Look at you! Good job!
I’d say you still are an ambitious successful working woman!
A suggestion? Wear jeans instead. Or other comfortable and machine washable but dressier than sweatpants trousers. Here is my reasoning. What you wear influences how you feel about yourself. You have accomplished so much! It is hard to recognize that about yourself in sweatpants. Even leggings and a long top feel better. I don’t mean spend a fortune for nicer clothes that fit your current life, but small things make a difference.
If you are accustomed to wearing make-up but haven’t been because you are just at home with kids, then throw on some mascara. Sure the only person that will see it is you when you run into the bathroom to take a pee, but if it makes you feel better, why not? I keep my hair short and wear jeans most days, but I never wear tennies if I’m not excersizing. Because nice looking shoes are what make me feel feminine and more dressed up. For you it could be something else. Just find one thing to do every day that makes you feel better without having to think about it. Since you specifically mentioned the sweatpants, I suspect that is the simple switch that could make a difference.
Why am I carrying on about dress and grooming rather than answering your question about recovering from a carby meal? Because I think you already know how to handle that. But @MooBoom is right, and I’m sending my virtual hug along.
Good advice, @Ruina! I have to wear sneakers so I wear dresses every day because that makes me feel good even though I work on dirty presses in a print shop. They aren’t fancy dresses, but it makes me feel feminine and pretty. Whatever your thing is (make up, hair pinned up, the fit of a shirt that flatters you, etc.) give it a try!
I wear what I am most comfortable in, and what makes me feel good. Find someone once or twice a month who can watch the kids so you and your husband can have a date night. Believe me, I know how hard it is to schedule that, but also how important it is to take time to be with your husband (and to have conversations with an adult).
I’m a mom of 4. My oldest (8) is in school, and his sister (5) goes two days a week. That means I’m home with her and her young siblings (2yrs and a 7m old) all day.
I totally get your stress! I, too, like grocery shopping…just to have some “me” time!
If you are nursing I wouldn’t worry about the cheating so much. And by cheating, how many extra carbs are you talking about? I’d just start each day new and try to do better. Since your kiddos are little, just put them in the stroller (I’m assuming you have a double stroller) and go for a jog or a walk. Pushing those doubles is a workout in itself!
I was thinking about your flash sneakers and dresses as I wrote the above.
I used to have live in nanny, even then I left house for a dinner only once. I could not leave kids with nanny alone I just could not. That’s me. Now I don’t have help at all I do most of things myself now and I am ok with it actually, other person living in house was killing our privacy. I have found a daycare but I am on waiting list🙄
I just ordered a double stroller. Suggest some good double stroller if u can please. I do go on walk with my older one in stroller while my husband watches little one. I am trying my best.
Thanks!!
I am not drinking milk but I use cup of milk in all day 3-4 teas. But I tried my tea with HWC. I think I’ll get used to it.
Yeah, you will save yourself ALOT of carbs that way! 12 grams of sugar from milk ain’t worth it. Some days I drink kombucha but keep it zero carb for the rest of the day, I just wish I was able to tolerate dairy but even butter gives me stomach aches.
Thank you I know way of feeling good is looking good. I used to be size 2 and I m 15-20 pounds away from that. Oh dear I own so many clothes like a lot I have 100s of dresses. Hopefully soon I’ll be using them. I am planning to go back to work next year(my husband does not want me to) but I think I have to for myself.
