CDC now links high flouride in water to lower IQ in kids

Thanks, Bob.

When I went to a dentist once, he basically told me that I had lived in Florida (which I had as a kid), because they used a high amount of fluoride in the water and consequently my teeth were yellower than for people from other locations. We never discussed more than that, though.

As for the dentist I follow on Threads, he said there was evidence that hydroxyapatite was better than fluoride, and the studies I saw indicated it was at least as good. He also said it was less toxic than fluoride, but I haven’t seen any studies about that.

Nice to see more, my fams been using Boka for the last year or so, also a Hydroxyappetite toothpaste, stuff you listed is a little cheaper I think, I’ll have to give it a try.

Interesting in that I grew up in Miami and never heard of fluorine in the water, but I was growing up and didn’t have my first cavity until I was around 28. That was long ago, and I’ve lived in central Florida for the last 42 years.

My dentist prescribes a fluoride toothpaste for me, in lieu of a treatment in the office that has to be redone every visit. I’ve come to conclude that the value I get out of it is exactly what I’d get by setting fire to that much cash.

When these health “authorities” talk about things like fluoridation or statins in the water supply they seem incapable of recognizing that there’s a cost/benefit ratio and there should be an effort to optimize that. I’ve always heard the Hippocratic oath says something like, “first of all, do no harm.” They’d do well to remember that with the exceptions of things like keeping cholera and such out of the water supply, it’s something like numbers harmed versus numbers helped.

Oh boy, is there no end to the ways the human race is damaging and destroying itself? It’s depressing.

Since I live in the country I have well water so no fluoride in my water supply. I only go to the dentist if I need something fixed so no treatments there.
Since becoming nutritionally conscious I’ve been doing progressively more to clean up my life such as cutting out coffee and most recently tea. Two months ago I dropped my fluoride toothpaste and went with something I got at a health food store and I started using a more natural deodorant that doesn’t contain the metals and chemicals that the mainstream deodorants have.
Just trying to get cleaner.
