meal one was lamb chops and beef ribs. Meal two was just a little bit of steak bites that were leftover from the family’s meal. I’ve been debating whether I want to go back to lion diet or to do BBBE (beef, butter, bacon and eggs). I haven’t fully decided yet, but today was a lion day.
Carnivores March into March :)
If you do BBBE it gives you the option of the butter bacon and eggs if you want it but you can still eat lion if you choose, i don’t feel like stepped off my path or broken my plan if I eat the others its why I chose it not so restricting…
Have you done lion before also? I’m just trying to figure out if I will lose benefits by doing bbbe that I would be getting in lion…
My massive 8½ lb dog loves heart too! When I get it out she comes running and sits at my feet waiting patiently.
She would rather have the dried beef liver than dried chicken breast so I’ve been dehydrating more liver but she’s not fat adapted to that degree yet! So yesterday, no liver for her. We’ll see how she does this morning.
We shared a leftover boneless beef rib and I saved a bit of it for her snacks. She’s been eating raw most of her 5½ years, this is a departure but it sure beats those nasty Dreambones she’s so addicted to and which aren’t available right now anyway.
@Naghite back during my veg/sproutarian days (70s and really 80s) I read a great deal of poo science as it’s fairly common with that woe to analyze it, and lots of books are available. Wheatgrass and coffee enemas, etc. Much different desire and outcome with that woe.
I made the scotch eggs yesterday morning. One of those is quite a good meal. I ate 2 a couple hours apart and took the other 2 along to the gig but no hunger, they’re now in the fridge, probably 1 for today between the church gig and the other gig and that will hold me most of the day. Church always has a lot of 20220326_090123|375x500 food but none of it is acceptable although I usually have a keurig coffee and then several little bottles of water.
We got home about 4 yesterday and I air fried boneless ribs for dinner.
Thinking I’ll make a batch of the scotch eggs for the 3 day trip. We don’t eat much while traveling so that will probably get me home!
@JJFiddle
how you been in your guts lately? I hope you are improving alot now
------------fast post
mow and mow and mow and mow and then I have to mow again
so that is my day, take a big hit of grass/pollen issues out there today but will drug up a bit.
only thing I got left is some burger meat defrosted. have to hit up freezer for steaks and pork roast defrost. Simple eating day for me but get that feeling the family is gonna wanna eat this or that or try to drag me out to eat somewhere…we shall see LOL
amazes me I have so much meat in the fridge to eat then wake up and boom, it seems to be all gone need to batch cook a bigger meatloaf, probably tomorrow. good staple to have for me.
enjoy the ZC day all
Most of the time I eat just beef and water sometimes salt but just recently I added back eggs and coffee and butter…
Dairy can mess with me …I don’t think eggs do and if prices keep rising eggs is a good thing to be able to eat as a side which is why I added back pmsf buns…so I could eat burgers
Came home from work yesterday a bit bloated and after having all that bacon and pork I went up to get my early night and boy did I need the loo. My guts hurt last night until I managed to get rid of it on the loo. I didn’t have the big D but softer than normal. Think my gut was hurting from the chilli spice and salt on the pork and the salty bacon. Urghhh. Fortunately when I got into bed, apart from feeling lighter and unplugged my tum had completely settled and I was able to sleep. My neighbours kept the music low and I cannot complain I got a few decent hours in barring a few wee trips through the night. Even with the clock springing forward and losing an hour I got up in fairly good spirits and after stair running and bathing was in work by 6.45 again. Worked straight through and home just after 6pm. I left work just 15 mins shy of my 11 hour shift. If I had done the normal shift hours I would have started at 830am and finished at 9pm with an hour lunch. Lovely and quiet with just me up there so no need for achy ears with wearing my specs and head phones, just had the loud speaker on again as per yesterday. No distractions and a fee breaks to the loo and getting a few brews so all in all not too bad a day. Some would think it was lonely and I might have been one of those before my blip but it was real heaven for me today. Normal distractions tomorrow🙄
Took some cooked chicken with butter to reheat plus 2 hard boiled eggs just to keep me going till I got home then had 3 pork chops and a small bit of corned beef that needed eating, chucked a bit in the bin, tasted too salty. Early night again for me with work again tomorrow.
Oh I arrived home to find my daughter had popped in and left me a lovely mithers day gift of a planter with a collection of different plants already planted.s9 that has gone straight outside. Nice not to have to re pot it.
Happy Mothers day to you all
She also left me a beautiful card with some lovely words written inside which almost got me teary eyed
I’m not long off the phone to my old mate (we go back to primary school). He’s a successful butcher in the neighbouring town to mine.
I was asking him about alternative cuts and organ meats; telling him about my penchant for lambs’ liver.
Wow. He told me you wouldn’t believe the amount of customers who are asking for things like liver.
He’s too sensitive (and professional) to ask why, but he reckons that these people have a condition and have been advised by someone in the know, to try these foods.
I don’t know…an oncologist with wisdom and a conscience? I would not like to speculate.
He also says a lot of heart, kidneys etc. get reserved by people, frozen, then never claimed. He thinks these people are the likes of Greyhound dog racers, as opposed to better nutrition seekers.
Anyway. The world is as it is.
I’m on my way for trying heart, kidney, as well as my beloved lambs’ liver.
Lovely gift btw.
I printed out a photo of my mum, dad, grandad and Dosser (the golden Labrador) from 1965 (10 years before I was born), which a local retailer was able to translate onto a slate picture. I think she liked it.
Sorry, never took a pic of it…
@Karen18 beatiful flowers are happy Mothers Day! What a LONG day you had - an 11 hour shift?! OMG I would die. Our gigs are 3 hrs long, a 4 hour one is like abuse, lol.
@Fangs Thank you, I think I’m there. No Immodium or bile supplements for a couple weeks. I’m sure things will level out eventually, sleeping well without the mad dashes to the bathroom, and food is tasting good these days. And BTW congrats on your 2 lb loss
I heated the 2 remaining scotch eggs this morning and ate 1, went and did church music and the pickers circle and we got home about 3:30. I heated the other scotch egg and ate that with half a boneless beef rib. Tonight I will have a couple slices of cheese and that will do it.
One day this week I ate about 3 times, couldn’t stop being hungry. Now, I’m hardly hungry at all, and have energy to burn.
Here is another pic of those scotch eggs I took this morning. A very nice meal to go.
The last few days have been drinking water and eating steak bacon and sausage for my meals.
But today I wasn’t that hungry at all so all I ate was about 9oz of ribe eye roast and have drunk water…
I’ve got those steak out for tomorrow
Went to the store today and grabbed another rib roast as it was on sale 9.99 a lb not real cheap but way better than the 12 or 15. It has been…
I’m hoping they have Easter sales and I can stock up it was only like 6.99lb at Christmas…
I bought some sausage meat to add to some ground beef to make meat balls for hubby the meatballs in the store so fill of junk but hubby loves them so this way I can’t cut the crap…add pork rinds as the binder he was happy with the reults.
@JJFiddle
wow that is wonderful to hear. You know reading the big D is destroying someone is rough to read. It is one of the toughest adaption issues to say, hold on, it will clear, hang in there LOL I mean no one wants to deal with it cause it can just ruin your daily life…So happy that is controlled and done for you now. That is one adaption issue no one wants, and hard one to live with and now you are one carnivore who said ya lived thru this tough time and show another that ya came thru it ok
@Karen18
Mothers Day is May for us. I read your post and thought what the heck then I remembered you are UK! Lovely and you and your DD get along so well. Lucky Mum!
---------------------got NY Strips defrosting for later.
have errands out so on way home will hit grocery and see if meat dept has any markdowns. Never know what I might hit…but got a hankering for some type of fatty pork after my steak for second meal. we shall see what I come up with.
keeping food very very simple. best way for me.
@Fangs Have you ever ordered from Wild Fork Foods? I have found they have pork belly strips for $5.88/lb., which beats the lowest price I can find in stores near me.
@JJFiddle your version of scotch eggs look amazing and the egg look yummy.
@Fangs well done on the 2lb loss I meant to me tonight it after reading it. What a good feeling for you.
Another fairly decent nights sleep … quite stunned but happy, could be that the moon has waned and it is also now lovely and dark without it lol. A few days and 8t will be waxing and no doubt the sleep will be affected again. Up at 4.45am stair runs done bath done and in work for 6.45 for a 10 hour shift. Much more noisy with staff in today, too many distractions and people coming in the little office to chat and had my ill health retirement meeting with my line manager to go through the forms and process. Can take up to 65 working days so I have a few months yet before knowing either way. Worked through lunch to leave early but still hot caught up in rush hour traffic and it was busy and by the time I got home I was wiped out and frazzled. Weny out into garden with a cuppa and watered the plants which helped me to feel calm and happy.
Cooked chicken with butter and 1 hard boiled egg at work then at home I had small sirloin steak with 2 fried eggs and I have buffalo chicken wings in oven to eat as I guess I will feel hungry later otherwise.
meal one was a 2 part meal. I chopped up the little bit of roast left that I had eaten yesterday and the bone and threw in the air fryer and 2 beef ribs. The roast and bone marrow was done before the ribs obviously, so I enjoyed them, then the ribs. Meal two was beef ribs. I made bone broth today for the first time in over a month. I just haven’t been in the mood for it! Also hadn’t been in the mood for beef liver, but you’ll be seeing both of those on my plates again starting tomorrow.
I saw Karen’s post above about sleep, so I guess I’ll give you a sleep update. I’m still taking the ashwaganda mix and my sleep, in general, has been pretty good. I definitely have off nights (like last night.) but for the most part, I wake up twice a night. Ideally that would be zero, but it’s a whole lot better than 8-10 times a night, so I’ll take my little victory. Don’t know why these photos won’t upload!
@Fangs Thank you. Yes it’s nice to be counted amongst the living again after the first 2½ months of this year; food tastes great and I get to sleep most of every night, and I have energy to do everything that needs to be done. But I can’t help discouraging people from carnivore who might not tolerate that kind of transition.
@Karen18 mmm your wings look great, I’ll be buying some packages of those in VA maybe next week. Glad you had the meeting with the line manager and that things are moving forward for you! Your coffee in the garden sounds like a peaceful respite after a long workday. Aahh…
@Ketodaisy I love your ribs! Can almost taste them!
Boring food here today, made more scotch eggs as hubby hasn’t had any yet and I’m thinking of taking some on the road. So just 1 at lunch, they’re quite filling :
Travel this weekend is going to be easy peasy. We always stop for hot dogs at the truck stops and for years I’ve been eating 2 dogs and throwing out the buns. So that continues, and I’ll cook a lb or 2 of bacon, take some of these scotch eggs, and a lb of cheese and I’m done. Just 2 nights on the road and when we get home we drop off the puppy and head for the steakhouse, so that’s taken care of too!
I’ve run out of food. Eggs are scarce due to supply chain issues. We have major pastured chicken egg farms in the region but they have to be collected and packed, then transported in a loop via the city to get distributed to shops back here. Many of the eggs don’t make it back out of the city. I think the shortage is also economically driven with eggs being a cheaper protein.
Staying on plan 2MAD. No FUN (No Food Until Noon) because I’m not hungry until then. Partly due to appetite suppression from 2 coffees with measured aliquots (ice cubes) of cream 3 hours apart. Then the last two nights have been beef dinners. Last night with some salmon. The previous night was steak and eggs.
I’m still on my heavy supplements plan as prescribed and advised by the doctors. The polyarthritis pain has gone. I’m back to physical activity, but can feel I am not as strong. It’s winter preparation here. In between working on the computer for work, I’m out in the sunshine and fresh air chopping and collecting firewood from the small 2 acre woodland we have on our property.
There are some autumn blooming native trees. This is a Hakea.
