Lol, just self experimenting with ADF and then very large meals to keep my RMR very high. Still, I do not think many could attempt the meals I have been eating. Finding this WOE to be…. Interesting. ZC on !

is that alternate day fasting? only thing I can think of :sunny:

SO your training is changing you on your eating. I was thinking like bodybuilding or going long distance cycling or ??? :partying_face: I put that to mean an exercise regime you were tackling.

Aye, alternate day fasting. I am working out and comparing gains, but I am really chasing ketones and lower blood glucose to see effect on sd-ldl production based on fasting glucose levels as well as lowering my IR. Only a week in and even with that meal yesterday, awoke with ketones around 2, so looking promising.

Do what works for you! I admit to finding a love hate relationship with OMAD style eating. I feel great while eating, it is just before when hungry and after when over full I find it not as good. Eating feels a bit like a drug fix, lows and highs.

and that is what I never wanna do on my zc lifestyle cause it never suited me. I can’t do high and low and if I personally swing too much it is over for me. I think I can hold a plan with dramatic experiments and I can’t, which is why basic zc suits me…but I know many can do just this. I have to let the body direct my eating and I change in eating easily thru times on plan but never by forced changes. I tried forced changes, didn’t come out well for me…lol

never ever saying here guys that what works for one is not right :slight_smile:

everyone does themselves as they need to do cause we are truly so individual and it ain’t ‘all physical’ it is a massive mental game we play here in truth so if we ‘found our good way’ we hold, if it flips we change, if we ‘see it for what it is’ then we do progress.

I can’t ever be you guys with the fasting and monkeying with fat content and eat this or not that or not before this time or more…I am one of those simpletons now on zc that it suits me to let the plan change me but darn I am a dino here, you guys are the young’ins doing you own thing. I had my walk and found me but I am SO interested in how you guys fair with your changes and needs.

This is what it takes me for vs. how the thread is going on zc experiements, nothing more, no judgements, do whatever each person feels they wanna try at this point in their journey :slight_smile: :slight_smile:

The problem though was “just eating carnivore” wasn’t working for me. I love carnivore and I healed a lot of things by eating carnivore, but there were some pretty major things that were getting worse for me. So by doing the fast and changing my macros, literally everything that hadn’t been right is getting right. So I definitely agree with the fact that if everything is perfect with “just eat meat”, if everything ISNT perfect, don’t be afraid to make tweaks! I’ve tweaked pretty regularly for the last 3 years and I think I’ve finally found it. For me.

@Ketodaisy, agree a ton on your post!
it has to be do you on zc. while the ol’ setpoint of the concept is just eat meat and what ya want when you want it doesn’t work, we ‘tweak’ but for many I think they jump that gun too fast. —not sayin’ you here!–Like it is more of an instant gratification and ‘control’ of the plan that won’t work if we don’t live the lifestyle and change thru the plan.

KD you are no beginner to zc and I know that and I think if it suits you to find you…you go for it.

I am so not you tho so when I read it I am like yikes, but again, I have to remember I am not you on zc ever :100::ok_hand:

Rock it out for yourself, not a bad way ever to proceed on carnivore for yourself!

I realized I tracked wrong (planned uneaten sour cream was counted… no, I don’t need much dairy after I missed them so much. good) but then I ate at early night again, just a tiny bit and not meat. One bigger meal works better for long satiation, I know that but my calories were low anyway, no wonder I needed a tad more food. Still great macros, 105g fat, 151g protein guesstimated… :slight_smile: But I am curious about some proper day, NOT a 5MAD one…

I can show what and how much I ate yesterday (there was more milk and some tiny differences but it’s pretty close):

It doesn’t look a big meal (as it isn’t, I use that term for something else) but it has lots of protein and nutrients and it’s very, very, very satiating for me. Satisfying too, at least now. My love towards pork fully recovered and a bit more, I am a bigger fan than ever at the moment. But a careful one.

If anyone is curious about my little extras, as I don’t do strict things now, carnivore-ish should be enough… I had some black olives (I didn’t need them but we got a small jar and I have little ideas what to do with them. they were fine with my pork but my pork is near perfection without them) - and radish for crunch.
My many coffees isn’t in the pic but I had them.

Today I don’t drink coffee and I have some vague plan but I forgot I start with meat now and I just ate my not-pizza (if I shouldn’t use such terms here, tell me):

Not a looker, right? :smiley: It was okay but I won’t bother with it next time, my sponge cakes with butter tasted LOADS better and my meat will be the same. But that’s for another meal, I am quite satiated now.
I just made this as I made kind-of-pizza for Alvaro (my standards are high, I don’t call my creations pizza even when they are wheat based… but he said it’s way better than the allegedly real stuff in many pizzarie. it’s possible, I only found 2 good places in my life. but I only ate pizza a few times. still, found quite bad ones) so I put some tuna on some eggs myself :D. Not my best crust, it was crumbly in the beginning, not like it matters. It was a nice cheesy tuna egg thing.

So my super easy satiation is still here. It’s good but I do my best to have a nice dinner, okay maybe a second dinner and that’s it!

My plan for the rest of the day is something like this, we will see.

The pitcher has egg milk with vanilla and clove, it’s a very common item in my life, usually used in coffee.

And now I read… And look… Ohhh I almost get hungry again but I want to wait at least 2 hours between my meals today…

It6 happens. Cats usually love fish, it’s not just a stereotype (our current ones surely do, that’s how the neighbour and his wife stole the hearts of our cats in the first place :smiley: but they are lovely people and big cat lovers too) but Mom had a cat who never touched anything with fish in it. Animals have their own tastes, some are pretty weird. I heard about cats really, very much loving vegs. But they are obligate carnivores, didn’t they get the memo…? My cats love meat (fish included, of course) and eggs and even dairy. And that’s about it (mostly… Caroline stole and ate a significant amount of poppy seed roll before), not like I experimented with plant stuff but the cats steal and eat various things (a tomcat, Caroline’s son was a weirdo, he ate plain boiled white rice from the pot. what. Alvaro himself wouldn’t eat that alone! not like I understand Caroline’s action, it barely had eggs in it).

Sigh. I wrote about carbs again but they were relevant and I had momentum…

Today is a rainy day. I miss going out. But my workout went okay this time. I wasn’t weak as a kitten just my normal self :slight_smile: I make sure to eat my meat, I need food for my tiny muscles.

I definitely can’t do that on carnivore(-ish) when it’s my usual Easy Satiation state…
Except if I still can eat 1 kg chicken and stay hungry…
Yeah, I probably still have a very big range, I just naturally go for satiation now :slight_smile:
I don’t need overeating fat and a ton of chicken feels so pointless, it’s not substantial. My smaller amounts here and there paired with something else work well and that’s it.

I like my OMAD days a lot because I only do them when it comes almost naturally. If I get hungry or can’t eat enough comfortably, I don’t do them. I just push a tiny bit sometimes but I need the cooperation of my body, I don’t force things.

I just often don’t get what I want but now things really seem to go in the right direction. I feel I am close to figure out how I should eat.
It will change later, sure, I have phases… But that’s fine.

Hopefully I am done. TMAD and it is so weird when I go carnivore(-ish, not even pure) and suddenly can’t normally eat. I need to eat so I eat, I always do that but it’s kind of a chore… Very odd. I had that for my 2nd meal today.

But my food was good. I couldn’t eat my pork that would have been in the very end, very solid food just wasn’t an option at that point. Part of my body was done but I felt I need more food (my protein was too low anyway without my pork).
Fortunately I had 2 more soft sponge cakes (tomorrow I will make another bunch :)) and some lovely pâté… That was too easy to eat but I moderated myself (and run out of sponge cakes anyway).
My protein is fine, fat is way higher than it would have been with pork but it’s fine, I dislike it too low on workout days anyway…
And I feel super full.
My “fullness” meter (I didn’t know I have such a thing, wow) is crazy. I eat a bit and it complains that it can handle more - while I clearly feel the need for more nutrition. Oh well, the day is done and well but if I get hungry after midnight, I will scream a little bit. I won’t, will I? :slight_smile: I have good numbers. (No one cares about them except me so I won’t share those. Only if I make some really fun ones one day.)

So, so, so very full. And satisfied. Yum. I need my little processed stuff too. But I really will figure out how to make a good pâté myself. My own isn’t a fatty one, I use meat, not fat tissue. That is good too just different and not such a spreadable thing (well that has a lot of water while I don’t add such things. if I need to add water to some flavorful stuff, I add eggs. but maybe some water would do good). Especially that I use chicken liver instead of pork. As it’s tasty simply fried too and slightly easier to get.

Alvaro tried to do some shopping, he is chasing a carby item with steadily raising prices and availability problems. Now he finally learned to check the meat options for me. He didn’t find pork but they had fowl (like turkey :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:). Indeed, that supermarket is good at that. And it’s a meat counter, only a tiny plastic bag for my bunch of turkey wings or whatever they have! I really hate those big, thick boxes and last time I got determined I will buy my turkey properly (and in bigger amounts! cheap and lovely, I want it… just not the drumstick with its zillion bone-like sinews. it’s tasty but those things are tiresome), not grabbing whatever I can when I already run out of all since long and desire turkey. Turkey is good. I need turkey experiments. Can I get satiated with it or it’s the same as chicken? Maybe it’s almost as bad but not quite? Still awesome paired up with other meats, for some reason it doesn’t balloon my macros that way. I had to eat my normal meal after 1kg chicken when I tried that, it was scary.
Pork is my number one meat but it gets boring sometimes and turkey comes to the rescue and it’s different and cheaper. Just perfect. And it has skin I can fry into a crunchy perfection. Except when I have necks like now, of course. I make soup with that, I have collected fowl bones galore, the time is near. I haven’t eaten soup since… Weeks, is that possible? When I was a kid (and for my anchestors all their life) soup was an everyday thing. Often twice.
As time passed, soup got more and more rare. Some years ago I still desired it 1-2 times a week but it took effort and time while it didn’t satiate me (considering it was veggie soup, no wonder)… So I neglected it as much as I could. I don’t really desire it anymore but as I have bones, sometimes the thought cross my mind. It IS nice to have soup. I can put poached eggs into it (I only can do that with soup, apparently. and eggs in purgatory but that’s not carnivore. not like it necessarily keeps me from eating it but I need a good reason) and I always use some to make egg pudding :slight_smile: And I have the soup with the meat too. It adds variety and I love liquids. I always strongly preferred the liquid part of the soup. Except soups with lovely meat in them. Not the chicken ones (the soup was good but I don’t like my chicken boiled with its skin not being crispy… chicken has a handicap and it only can battle it coming out of the oven with beautiful colors and crispiness. I even wanted pickles with it when I was a kid, the chicken actually was an afterthought except its crispy skin. Mom and Grandma were magical, MY chicken skin is only good if I fry it extra in a pan. sigh. but it’s doable and then I get a super crunchy bite!).

Oh my goodness so many posts ! I shall try and read some tomorrow but for now I’m tucked up in bed and ready to call it a day!

Sian myself and Ben travelled a good 5 hours to Paignton in Devon in rubbish traffic but arrived at an incredibly beautiful chalet bungalow for our long weekend and the bed is comfy Yay! Hopefully I will still think that in the morning.

We got booked in to an American style steakhouse only 10mins walk. I had a ribeye and spicy butter and spicy chicken wings and it was delish, plus they knock a bit of the bill cos I didn’t have all the gubbins that should have come with it! Sian had ribeye with some extras and ben had a full rack of beef ribs with everything!!! There was so much on his plate that we brought half the meat back to the airbnb!
Earlier in the day i ate a hard boiled egg and 3 chick thighs i had packed for journey.

I see this as tweaking things I’m not counting calories I’m not really counting fats I am watching protein so I’m not eating too much but more importantly I’m getting at least the min amount of .7 grams per idea body weight…
Eating multiple times a day to make sure that happens. If im still hungry I’ll cut off another pat of butter or cheese

Seared the 2nd half of the pork tenderloin today. I had 6 pieces, hubby had 3 with his sides (seems fair to me).
I steamed 6 eggs for the trip and a package of bacon, also thawed a pkg of liverwurst, so good with sharp cheddar, for the hotels.
We had a great night playing at the restaurant. When I got home I found a little piece of steak and ate that cold.
@Fangs thanks. Before I posted here I Googled everything and it’s never until I come here that I get any decent answers. You are golden in my ZC journey!

I smiled big at this part!! I am the same. More meat for me cause they are getting their sides :slight_smile: so true on ‘how carnivores split’ their meats.

-----------------woke up not too hungry again. I did eat a can of sardines yesterday which were delish and right after I finished them my mind said, you don’t want more of this. Done deal. OK, just wait til I want them again. A fair amt of tins sitting the pantry when wanted again.

Yep, the same here too, I mention a lot how tiny meat Alvaro eats compared to me… :wink:
And when we sit down for lunch, it’s my first, most important meal while he already had a big breakfast, it’s different! :smiley: But while he is very stable, always 3MAD with the usual amount of food, I may have little or much meat at once… But if I don’t eat many eggs with cheese or something, my little meat is still more than his.
And if I added his sides, I still would need more meat as the sides make me hungrier while they make him more satiated… Actually I wonder if it’s still true but I surely won’t start experiments… I don’t want any sides apart from my normal ones. I have off days when I grab something but it’s just a bite.

Alvaro cooked the mouflon, nice surprise, the meat was 1000g, not 500g, it merely looked very tiny but meats are dense and my memory is faulty… So I cut off 105g for myself but I will eat from the non-carni dish too, obviously. Nice red meat, it looks very good, very little fat, some connective tissue…
This far I ate this and that, I had small leftovers. Chicken, pork, pâté, tuna and eggs (the only item where the amount could be normal). I started at 11am because Alvaro had his lunch then and I couldn’t resist and actually could eat…

@JJFiddle: Looks good! I think it’s time for my 2nd meal today… Nothing gives me appetite and focus on my forming hunger more than the photos in this thread… :wink: Except maybe cooking sometimes but I usually cook when I am still very satiated.

This morning I made a fatty coffee after finishing it i noticed my stomach started showing signs it wasnt happy didn’t last long but long enough to tell me I don’t need that any more… so im loving this instant feed back…
So I cut back on the fats added to my first meal to just under 1 ounce of butter and just over an ounce of sheep cheese

I am so full… The mouflon was very, very, very good. The vegs and sweetness… Not so much. But the meat was so good I ate half of the whole stuff.

Every time I eat mutton I realize it’s my favorite ruminant - though deer is lovely too but I don’t even remember it at this point but it will be the star of my ruminant day in October if everything goes according to plans.
And I don’t eat it (mutton, I mean) every year because it’s hard to get or I don’t try hard enough…? It really deserves a bit more effort though. The cooking time was one hour in the pressure cooker and it became so, so tender… :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:
I want it again but in a more proper dish. With much more meat and way less sweetness.
(But crunchy whole cardamom seeds? They are pretty fun.)

Finally I finished the 120g fried pork (225g in raw weight) I started to eat yesterday… It was mildly challenging so I freezed the other 120g. I need a tiny break.
I ate 6 sponge cakes with salted butter, a little cheese and pâté… It was lovely. And crunchy chicken skin. I ate some very delicious food.

And now I am super full as I wrote. I had several little meals, 5-6 in 8 hours. No numbers yet and I enjoy it while it lasts… I don’t know when I can stop tracking for a few days but it will be very needed (one day I will start my training regarding stopping tracking. it’s super hard at this point and I am really curious so I can’t want to try to stop yet). But simpler days help too.

I try not to semi-accidentally eat too early tomorrow.
I hid the coffee jar (7 coffee days from 17??? it can’t continue) and I go back to my no-coffee, moderate-dairy carnivore-ish now that our version of tuh’u is out of the way! I hope Alvaro won’t get more ideas in the near future - or I can make good decisions. I really dislike having bad deals like this. If I eat more carbs, I want to enjoy them, not having them lowering the enjoyment of my precious mutton. Alvaro says he wants this 1-2 times a year. We should buy more meat and everyone makes their own dish then. But normally it’s cool, he makes some stew I enjoy.
Yep, I will try to be smarter next time. I just can’t enjoy the same things I did before (but last time the dry red wine probably helped too).

Breakfast today. I went a bit smaller and do not feel bloated today. We have a good amount of Buffalo heart, wild pacific salmon, beef thymus, chicken livers, sheep testicles, sheep spleen stuffed with pork belly and some homemade bacon from more pork belly.
