Caribbean cocktails?

I’m heading to the Virgin Islands next week! When I was there a few years ago, I drank lots of delicious frozen alcoholic drinks; my favorite was Lime in the Coconut, which I just calculated at 59 grams of carbs carbs in one drink. :flushed:

During my vacation I’m not going to excel at keto, but I would like to keep my carb count reasonably low and not blow the entire day on one drink. What are some good lower-carb alternatives that still shout “Caribbean vacation!” without being chock full of sugar? :tropical_drink:

I don’t drink myself, but if I was in your shoes, I’d probably pack a case of this, and get the waiter to toss in a shot or two of vodka…seriously doubt there are many tropical drinks that aren’t carb-laden:

Love that stuff. Shame it’s so expensive.

The Bai is bliss, it would be an awesome tropical drink!

I’ve gotten into the “tiki” subculture the past year, and ya, it’s a drag that so many of the drinks are sugary. At a resort you probably won’t have the sugar-free versions of mixers, but here is a good thread to use as reference: http://www.tikiroom.com/tikicentral/bb/viewtopic.php?topic=40732&forum=10

Corn & Oil should be pretty low carb: http://punchdrink.com/recipes/corn-n-oil/ and a Planter’s Punch woulnd’t hit too hard: http://www.seriouseats.com/recipes/2010/07/planters-punch-cocktail-recipe.htmld
