I have been eating once a day (except for morning coffe). Is ok to eat all you carbs at the same time?
Carbs once a day?
All 20 grams or less? If you are eating only one meal a day then, by definition, all in one meal is fine.
Which carbs they should be is a better question. Cramming down low “net carb” protein bars (or any other fake food - including foods with artificial ingredients) spiking your insulin combined with a large meal loaded with dietary fat is what you don’t want.
Incidental carbs from leafy greens would be much better.
The only fake foods are slimfast keto fat bombs and keto shakes. Usually one of each a day after my meal. The rest is good carbs. I haven’t gone over 20 carbs. But I am eating the one meal until I’m stuffed not just until I feel full.
You can eat too much and gain weight with one meal a day keto.
You still have a large amount of fuel supplying your system as it snakes through you - if it takes 20 hours, your fasting window is pretty small.
If you don’t feel your clothes getting smaller, you might want to rethink.
If you feel you are encouraging an eating disorder, again, you might want to rethink.
How long have you been ketogenic? The idea of this way of eating is to give your body enough energy, but not too much, by eating to satiety. This means eating only when hungry, stopping eating when no longer hungre, and not eating again until hungry again. As long as you are keeping your carbohydrate low, your body will set your appetite at a level that will allow it to metabolize both your food and some of your excess fat.
I have been on Keto for 5 weeks. In the beginning I was trying to have a small lunch and then dinner. But the last week I have just been eating all my carbs at once. I never go over 19 carbs. But I eat 1 pork chop. Small salad with ranch dressing, handful of walnuts, peppercini, bacon, pepperoni and cheese and a slimfast fat bomb and a keto slimfast shake…NO KIDDING…all at one time. Usually around 4 PM. I have 30lbs to loose. Then will continue keto to maintain. I am not loosing weight steadily so I was just wondering if I should be spreading my meals out or if once a day was okay. I have lost a total of 10lbs in the beginning (water weight) and then last week lost another 2lbs. Could I not be eating enough protein? All the calculators give me a different amount so not sure if calculations are correct. Currently…1350 calories…81 protein…19 carbs …104 fat. Desk job but not sitting all day. Any advice if this is close to where I should be?
Why are you concentrating so much on when you eat your carbs, as opposed to when you eat your food?
You would be much better off dropping the fake food (“slimfast”? Even the name is a lie) and just sticking to real food.
I was just wondering if it was okay to eat the carbs all at once. I do agree on dropping the slimfast. I have never been much of a sweet eater but since I’ve added the slimfast I feel like I’m craving them. Which is the opposite of what I should be doing. Thanks again for all the information.
I’m curious at to whether you want to live your life this way forever if and when you lose the 30lbs? This is the huge problem with Slimfast and other “diet” programs. I’m not even talking about the “food” - I’m talking about the meal replacement and severe change of lifestyle. Even the case with keto if you make it unrealistic to maintain.
First - I personally think you should get rid of the fake food. Then I think you should maybe go back to two meals a day with real food. It may possibly take a while longer to lose your 30 lbs but it’s far easier to maintain this way.
Again - my opinion.
