Carbs/fiber and sugar alcohols question

#1

I have been on keto for about 4 months and been having a hard time finding sweets I can eat.

I found these at the store

I was under the impression that from the total carbs I can remove fiber and sugar alcohols to find the net amount.

So I just want to make sure carbs-fiber-sugar alcohols=net carbs is in fact ok

cause this would mean 2 net carbs per 2 pieces or 1 carb a piece

Malitol is the worst of the sweeteners, already exhaustively discussed here.

Sugar alcohols vary in digestibility. Some, like erythritol, can be subtracted out completely. Others, like Xylitol and Maltitol, still have over 2 calories per gram, so should really only be half-subtracted.

So I would only half-subtract the sugar alcohols on this item.

Also, many people have bathroom issues with maltitol.

Everybody is different on that one. Some people get away with that, many don’t. Maltitol provokes insulin just like real sugar so if you notice yourself stall out don’t forget about those candies.

Anything that contains maltitol should be avoided at all costs.
