My husband is doing Keto with me (we are 9 days in) but he has a hard time giving up breads and pasta being that he was raised by a very Italian family in New York. Ive been looking for bread recipes to make some low carb loaves to have sandwiches. Im aware of the 90 second bread and the other pseudo bread mixes that include cheese etc etc, but I ended up finding Carbquik made primarily of Cabalose
“Carbalose flour as a wheat flour substitute - it behaves like wheat flour, because unlike similar products, it is made mostly from wheat, yet it lacks most non-fiber carbohydrates”
http://www.tovaindustries.com/carbalose/nutrition.html
I bought a box of the Carbquik from Amazon and Im excited to try it out and see how it tastes. There are SOME complaints about the taste of Cabalose but I want to try it myself.
Im just curious if anyone here has heard of it, used it before, or know if this is too good to be true. The net carbs are VERY low for this mix because of the amount of fiber it contains. There are also apparently bread recipes using this mix that make slices of 1 carb each - https://www.netrition.com/recipe-carbquik-lowcarb-white-bread.html
So im naturally very curious.
