Carb dreams

(Liz Ellen) #1

When I was first going into ketosis, I had a few carb dreams, but they seemed to drop off. I’m a little more than two months in now and had another one this morning that seemed rather apt.

I dreamed that I was at a friend’s house for a party. At the end of the party, I was in the kitchen helping clean up. There were pies and cakes everywhere. To my horror, I looked in the trash and it was overflowing with delicious desserts. I saw a pear wrapped in pastry dough and picked it right out of the trash and started eating it. Then I woke up, feeling vaguely guilty.

Eating carbs out of the trash. Happy Wednesday, fellow keto brethren!

Oh nooo… :joy::joy::joy: literally carbage then? XD

Exactly. I suppose my brain has accepted that desserts are garbage. But I still want to the garbage.

Maybe time to “treat” yourself? What is a favorite keto meal you don’t have all that often? I had a small rib eye sous vide cooked in butter last night with a generous seasoning of salt. That was food heaven for me. What would do it for you?

No reason to dream about carbage when you get to indulge in the once forbidden savory foods. :):sunglasses:

It gets a lot better after a while. How long are you doing keto now?

Hahaha. I needed a good laugh this morning, thank you  I had my first wrestle with carbs yesterday & it was quite funny now that I think about it. My husband is a cookie/cake/brownie/candy junkie so my house is packed full of garbage food. He left his Oreos out on the bar in the kitchen & I felt like they just taunted me all day. Oddly enough, I don’t even like Oreos but, they were stressing me out. Several hours into this “showdown” I took the whole pack & emptied in our driveway for the crows to eat.

Christy I feel your pain ,my kids love pasta and fruits and nachos, so I make it ( not the fruit) so everyday it’s loke this . I’m not a pasta fan but fruit and nachos .

We also love nachos! Last week I made Pork Rind Nachos & they were a decent alternative!

They were in the trash for a reason ;P.

I started shortly before the beginning of the year. So, a little more than two months. So far, I haven’t fallen off the wagon, but I really wanted to after having the stomach flu recently. Crackers and toast were calling to me. I had read on here about breaking fasts, and someone suggested a salad dressed with olive oil and vinegar. It worked out just fine.

I don’t get drunk dreams very often any more, but they used to be fairly common. Some of them could be quite vivid. I well remember the sensation of disappointment when I woke, thinking I had gotten drunk the night before, and the absolute relief when the realization sunk it that it was only a dream.

As long as you’re eating carbs only in your dreams, you’re doing fine! :+1:
