Can quiche be made without bread

Maybe a dumb question I’m not sure but Iv never had a quiche . There is a breakfast place nearby that has quiche and the nutrition facts mention nothing about bread and it has 25g fat and only 4 carbs . I think it’s too good to be true . I googled quiche and it seems to say it contains bread . I reached out to the breakfast place to ask and they said the quiche they serve does not contain wheat or bread so I think I’m safe but I’m paranoid because I’m about to start eating this every day- I tried one yesterday and it taste super good .I want to make sure it’s keto

Quiche in its classic form will usually have a pastry base. You can however make “crustless” quiche which is like a frittata or omelette… very few carbs depending on what you put in it if course.

It doesn’t look to have any breading or crust to it . This one is a circle shape not like a triangle. The description of it on the website doesn’t mention bread either just says egg, cheese , heavy cream , spices and ham . Like I said it just sounds and taste too good to be true

Sounds good to me…

We make a crustless quiche once a week or so. There are some trace carbs in the cheese and maybe ham or whatever is in it (as I’m sure you know), and it’s a good keto meal without the crust.

Sounds like a crustless quiche, which should be an ideal keto meal.

Quiche is typically made in some kind of crust, but can very easily be made without it!! In my opinion the filling is the truly good part and the crust basically just holds it all together!! I’m otherwords, totally not necessary!! If you are still doubting the restaurants version, just Google recipes, it’s quite easy to make and so many variations out there!! Enjoy!!

There is a local cafe here in Brisbane who not long ago had Keto options for breakfast on their menu.

One of the items was Keto Eggs Benny, with a Keto ‘bread’.

I emailed the company and I asked them about their nutritional breakdown, and how many carbs were in that bread. The woman replied to me and told me that they do not ask the chef to break down that information. I asked them, how can you ensure that your meals are keto if you don’t even know the carb content? I thought it was such a crock of shit. Be careful about people peddling keto based foods when they are simply not. I would always ask for a complete breakdown. But that quiche definitely sounds good!

I’ve never seen a quiche with a “bread” crust. I’ve seen them with what would seem much more like a pie crust. I used to make them with a shredded potato crust before going keto. Now, we make them crustless, which as said above is much like an omelette or frittata.

Hmmm… I wonder if I could make a shredded radish (or jicama, or rutabaga) crust quiche? Have never thought about it until just now…
