Can Anyone enlighten me about this?

This is an article that only appears in the French language section of Fitforlife. I don’t know if I’m posting this in the correct place, but forgive me, I’m new to this. Also my French isn’t that good and I’m slowly ploughing my way through it. So, just on the off-chance that someone out there with much better French than mine can read this quickly and give us an informed opinion.
Thanks in anticipation,

Ronnie.

The author begins by talking about how he or she “feels bad for poor insulin.” Did you know that some people actually think that insulin is bad for us, just because it inhibits lipolysis and stimulates lipogenesis? And did you know it’s a myth that a diet high in carbohydrate leads to a chronically elevated level of serum insulin?

At that point, I stopped bothering to read further. I’d love to know where the author got his or her “facts,” but not badly enough to finish reading the article. There are lots of lovely graphs, however.

The article is a translation from this article (in English):

And here is Jimmy Moore’s response:

Well done Anderson ! How on earth did you find that ? I know that I couldn’t have. This is the beauty of this forum, if you have a question you will always get a satisfactory answer. And Jimmy Moore’s response was an absolutely fascinating read.
I’m going to see my doctor tomorrow and I’ll give him a link to this, but I don’t know just how keen he will be to read so much in a foreign language …we’re in France.

And PaulL, my response was very similar to yours, I was going to ignore it, but I was trying to gauge the attitude in France towards a Low Carb, High Fat regime, and I was coming across a lot of pretty negative stuff…I didn’t know that the article had been lifted and translated for the French audience. I kept coming back to it and thinking “Surely that’s not right ?” and "That goes completely against what my personal experience tells me " So it was bugging me !
I was wondering if it was something to do with the fact that French people are justifiably proud and knowledgeable about their cuisine and a Brit,in particular, is treading on thin ice by criticising it.

Well, the French do have a somewhat justified disdain for British and American cookery. But only “somewhat,” because both you and we have greatly improved our national cuisines since the stereotypes got started.

I would be surprised, however, if high-carb, low-fat eating were to catch on in France in any kind of big way. My impression, from my admittedly few, all-too-brief visits to Paris, is that any thoughtful French person is too rational to be taken in by mistaken ideas about food, and any French non-thinker is probably too traditionally-minded to be seduced away from the customary French way of cooking and eating. After all, “thirty million Frenchmen can’t be wrong”!

Ha, Ha ! You flatter me PaulL. Although my wife and I have just successfully made a batch of Keto Meringues and a pot of Keto Lemon Curd for our afternoon tea, so maybe we’re getting there.
We have always noticed that the levels of obvious obesity in France is much lower than most of the Untied Kingdom. But it is creeping up ! Perhaps at the same rate as McDonalds here in France ?
It is quite surprising how much natural fat is eaten in France along with cuts of meat that have been consigned to history in the UK. In the UK supermarkets it is increasingly difficult to find any full fat dairy products, but here it’s still about 60/40 split the majority of it being full fat. And what about all the foie gras, rillettes and pates ? It’s easy to go Keto on that. This is before we even get on to Cheese and Wine !
Admittedly, I did, at first, find it hard to walk past a boulangerie or a patisserie without a sigh !
But to make up for it a new resto has opened up near us called la Resto Boucherie…Keto Heaven !

Bon appetit! Boy, do I envy you! Every civilized person has two cities:. His or her own, and Paris.
