C Reactive Protein

(JD) #1

Hello. I’m sure this has been asked and queried before. My husband and I have been keto for around 3 years. He enjoys a few alcoholic drinks in the eve.

He recently had some blood tests and his hsCRP was 38 mg/L and ESR 30. DHEAS was slightly raised. RBC slightly low - Ferritin high(578)

We’re slightly concerned about the elevated CRP as he hasn’t been ill and says he feels normal.

Do these levels look alarming?

Thank you

It would help to have the ranges and some info on if he’s been ill, fasting, drinking, etc. Also, does he have any recent handwork to compare it to?

Hello. He had fasted for 12 hrs prior to the tests. He normally fasts two days a week, so that’s nothing out of the ordinary.

He doesn’t have any blood work to compare too. He just went along to our local medical practice to have a check up. He’s usually healthy as far as we’re aware.

He hasn’t been ill either.
