Bullion

Does anyone have a favorite bullion cube, powder or paste (ideally organic)? I’m looking for one without sugar, maltodextrin, msg and other generally nasty things. It’s ok if it needs to be refrigerated. – I just looked at the ingredients in my Knorr Soup base and wanted to vomit:

Salt, Sugar, Corn Starch, Monosodium Glutamate, Beef Fat*, Hydrolyzed Corn Protein, Powdered Cooked Chicken*, Yeast Extract (Barley), Chicken Fat*, Natural Flavor, Maltodextrin, Silicon Dioxide (Prevents Caking), Dehydrated Parsley, Disodium Inosinate, Citric Acid, Yellow 5, Yellow 6, Annatto (Color), *Adds a Dietarily Insignificant Amount of Fat and Cholesterol.

Personally, I like Better than Bouillon in the fridge for the house and then I keep a jar of Wyler’s powder at my desk at work.

I love Better than Bouillon, but the Maltodextrin in it messes with my bg. Not as much as other brands, but still. I have not been able to find any without the dread Maltodextrin.

I checked out Better than Bullion (low sodium cuz that’s what they have) when I was at Costco today. 1 teaspoon has 2 carbs. Is it super super concentrated? That seems like a lot of random carbs if I’m going to be cooking with it, but maybe since that kind has less salt, I wouldn’t need as much (I’d just add in some salt of my own) ???

Another Better than Bouillon fan here. I will also add collagen peptides to a mug. 1 tsp BtB will make 6-8 ounce serving.
