Broth made from Beef tongue

food

Just a question: I made 4 beef tongues in my instapot ( and OMG they are sooooo good) and skimmed the white saturated fat off for frying the tongue crispy . The two mason jars are now filled the rest of the runoff, a very tasty gelatinous broth like substance which I figure to be mainly collagen, minerals & some micronutrients.

Does any one know if this assumption is correct? I am doing a EF currently for fat loss only and was wondering if I could use this instead of bone broth should I wish to use a cheat this week?

No zero carb carnivore vet does or recommends ef so I can’t tell you sorry

I would, and always do. It’s one of the best parts of cooking tongue, the broth. It’s one of my favorite foods, and if you get the chance try bison tongue, it’s even more flavorful.

should be a excellent broth, but will be protein rich also so maybe not a fasting broth. I make all my broth protein and fat rich so do not use it during fasts

Not true. The vets just dance around the semantics of fasting so they can get high and mighty about it.

Thanks for the answers. Rich in protein which I again assume to be collagen. Oh boy am I going to make a good egg yolk gravy with this when I break!! YAY!

Just a follow up. This broth is so rich and tasty. I feel as if it gives quite the bolt of energy. Fatty with protein. I am eager to do this in the winter!!
