Try it. I discovered this by accident.
Drinking a glass of Cabernet. Half way through, eat a wedge of Brie, and then sip the wine again. Amazing, isn’t it?

I went dry except for wine, yes. I no longer drink hard alcohol, except on a special occasion, like when Richard Campbell and I are in Scotland and he buys me a snifter of Dalmore or something… I got rid of all the alcohol in my house, except for red wine. I did that not only for my liver, but for my wife. She has hemochromatosis, and her doc told her to quit drinking because of it. It was much easier for her if we got rid of it. We used to drink bourbon every night. No longer.
It was much easier for me to tell everyone that my wife and I completely gave up drinking.
So you’re a lying lair that lies. That’s it, the honeymoon is over. You are sleeping on the couch tonight.
Yeah, this is scientific fact. I watched something on tv once about it. Red wine and cheese do fabulous things to each other, especially blue.
This was at the top of my list after waking up from a nap that I just woke up from. We are having a snowy day here and while working from home due to snow I had reason to make a run early in the day which involved a little shoveling a little bit of fun (if you like skiing on four wheels) driving in a very low to the ground car, and getting stuck for a bit.
Anyway, I managed to finish my work day and ended up falling asleep for about an hour and a half. During that time, I had a dream where I was eating chocolate with an orange gum drop in it. Not being able to shake the flavor while dreaming, I woke to find I really was tasting that. Wondering if it was something strange with Ketones, I naturally checked here.
Carl’s post was not only the first one that came up for a search of “Sweet Taste”, but in fact, I had indulged in a fair amount of brie with Caviar as a snack this afternoon.
It looks like it is not the wine that Brie makes taste sweet, but appears to cause a reaction in your mouth (I have not had anything since eating that)… No real science here, but just an observation in an accidental N=1 study. It is also good to know that it does not look like it is anything that I have to worry about being ketogenic related. Though maybe Ketosis enhances the sensation for some reason (do I smell acetyl-CoA beta-hydroxybutyrate??? lol… Actually, that is not “just” a joke I bet Richard Morris @richard could point to some science behind that), because I really cannot shake the taste… I feel like my mouth tastes like it is full of gumdrops… Maybe I should rinse it out with some red wine? lol

I may not have been that far off per “Really cheesy chemistry” (https://eic.rsc.org/feature/really-cheesy-chemistry/2020218.article).
