Breaking A Stall With No More Intermittent Fasting

(Nathan Toben) #1

Has anyone broken through a stall, whether it be Weight Loss or Non-Scale Victories by forgoing their usual Intermittent Fasting (IF) protocol and just eating breakfast, lunch and dinner?

I’m thinking IF is gradually raising my cortisol so i am considering switching it up.

It kind of seems to work for me. I IF throughout the week, just a late lunch, and my weight stays relatively stable (up or down a pound or two). But I eat breakfast and lunch on weekends and seem to drop 2 or 3, or more pounds in one day. I’m considering testing eating BF and lunch all week and skipping fasting to see what happens. But only after I get my A1C checked on Wednesday.

I have not fasted with any regularity but I can tell you the one week where I strictly fasted until 1 or 2 pm each day, my weight did not budge. So based on that result, I’m not sure IF is helpful for me. I am currently trying precisely 3 meals a day and I’m feeling very optimistic about it. I do get hungry between meals, but I just tell myself another meal is right around the corner. Yet, if I limit to 3 meals (without my usual snacking), each meal is a decent size. I’m excited and feel like this can work for me.

And yes my weight is in a downward trend but it’s only been a few days so it’s too soon to say this is working for sure…

I did it with two jars of peanut butter eaten over a 10 day period, and then I stopped.
