So I am coming off the end of a 24 hour fast and I decided to grind 1 tablespoon of flaxseed in a tumbler of water (about 10 ounces) and then followed it up with another 10 ounces of filtered water. In the meantime, I listened to Thomas Lauers podcast about breaking a fast with bone broth and MCT oil. I have both on hand but I didn’t know how long to wait since I took the flaxseed. I gave it an hour and I just took the bone broth with some Tumeric, salt and a tablespoon of MCT oil. My stomach is gurgling like crazy, but I’m not hungry. I’m just hoping that the benefits of the bone broth and MCT oil aren’t offset by my earlier ingestion of the flaxseed. And now how long till I have my actual dinner? Another 30–45 minutes?
Breaking a 24 hour fast with flaxseed and/or bone broth?

Not sure I would have used MCT oil as it has a reputation for causing gastric issues anyway…But to be honest after 24 hours you could probably eat just about anything… re-feeding is usually seen as a problem after more extended fasts.
