Bodybuilding Peak week / Photoshoot on Keto diet

#1

Hi guys,

Currently doing a Strict keto diet alternating between deficit weeks and maintenance weeks, I’m pretty lean and planning to do a fitness photoshoot with a good friend of mine, question is, how to look the best on D-day ??

I’ve been doing a lot of researchs on the internet but nothing “strictly keto”

do you have any experiences ? Do we really need to carb up to refill muscle glycogen and gain muscles sizes ?

Broknowledge used to drink 3 gallons of water monday to wednesday with lot of salts and no carbs, then on thursday and friday no water and no salt but 400 to 600g carbs/day… on saturday, show day they often look bloated while not drinking …

Smart people like Layne Norton recommend to front load carbs earlier (monday and tuesday), adjusting on friday, keeping water and salt the same, just a little more salt on show day and less water.

Robert Orion Sikes (Keto savage) used to eat fatheadp pizza (lot of salt and fat) on the day before, then on show day salt and lot of fat bombs… (but I’m suspicious about him cause pretending to be natty…)

What’s your opinion ?

Thanks for reading

I am by no means an expert in this but I am weight lifting 4/5 times a week. My gym has one of those machines that read your body. I don’t know it’s accuracy but I just used it a couple of weeks ago again with a trainer. Muscle down, fat down, fat around organs down. This is since April when I last went on these scales they have before 2 weeks ago. I hadn’t done too much lifting between as I stopped going to the gym. Now three weeks of consistently going and I’ll be having another try on the scales in 4 weeks. I’m next to no carbs, living on fat and protein mostly with very little veg so I am interested to see what difference it will make in 4 weeks when I go again. I’ve been keto since December and whilst I wasn’t going to the gym for 3/4 months I am now and I am starting to see a difference in my muscle formation and overall body composition and that’s just three weeks of sticking to my diet and weight lifting religiously. I do not intend on increasing carbs during this time so I’ll let you know in 4 weeks what the results where from this scan weighting machine.
