Blood Work: High LDL

(Kevin Anderson) #1

Am I doing something wrong? Results below. I know I could eat more fat, but the doctor recommended less saturated fat after these results came back. (have been doing this for 2-3 months now)

Total Cholesterol (mg/dL) 231
Triglycerides (mg/dL) 58
HDL Cholesterol (mg/dL) 59
LDL Cholesterol (mg/dL) 160
CHOL/HDL Ratio 3.9
Non-HDL Cholesterol (mg/dL) 172

Nope. Those numbers look great.

Trigs are very low, which is great, and HDL is high. When those two things are true, it’s usually the case that the LDL you have is of the fluffy kind that is benign, rather than the small, dense LDL.

I’m not a doctor, so not giving you medical advice, but most folks here would love to have results like that.

I would consider seeing if you can find a doctor who supports or at least is open to keto. Saturated fat, for example, is why your HDL looks so good.

Keep calm and Keto On!

Count me as one that would love those trig/HDL numbers.
