Blood tests

How do I get a fasting insulin test if my doctor won’t order it, because it’s data, “I don’t need to know?” That’s what I was told.

Where are you?
I got the same answer in the UK but can get the test done by sending off a blood sample… finger pricking on Monday morning!

I had the insulin resistance test this morning with 3 specimens. First draw followed by 75 grams of glucose. Second draw at 1 hours. Third draw at 2 hours. It was expensive at $85 order from Walk In Labs. I wish I had a baseline from when I started on this WOE.
Be careful that the lab does the draw correctly. It took 4 attempts before Labcorp get the test draw correct. The instructions for the Phlebotomist at the collect site are incorrect.

I use UltaLabs for all the tests my doc thinks are “unnecessary”. Fasting insulin is $26. Results in 24-36 hours. https://www.ultawellness.com/Item/Item/Insulin
